13 angry basement trolls rated this game a 2. Because mom didn't let them stay up late to beat it in one night.

  • If that's your "solid" argument about others' opinions about this expansion, then the joke is definitely on you, dude.

  • Bold of you assuming they have any solid argument instead of attacking the person

  • The problem I have with anybody trying to peddle the “strand is terrible” rhetoric, is that those reviews were written within 36 hours of the game dropping - most of which was not actually played with the “real” strand. We have no idea how strand will actually play once people figure out it’s ins and outs. Look at the creator videos from two days ago on strand. They are almost all negative. Look at the videos today. They are almost all glowing. Anybody saying great things or terrible things and dying on that hill about the expansion in the first 2-3 days are frankly, idiots. Their opinion (if they are honest) will change over the next week or two one way or the next. The dialogue is terrible. That you don’t need “more time” to sort out. I doubt anything can be done to make the expansion narrative ever amazing, but based on seasonal and raid story, maybe we all feel much better about the story in this one. The gameplay rhetoric is already getting less vitriolic and strand comments are starting to completely turn around. In short, snap judgements don’t have much merit.

  • I'll give the guy credit where credit is due. If he put thought into his critique, then I have no quarrel with him. Otherwise, I found the story to be what I expected, given the history and the current issues with their workplace during development. Strand, while not perfect, I find to be excellent. Once I gathered that the grapple is based on where the center of the screen was at the time, I found it relatively easy to use. I was very happy to find out there was a bolo grenade that suspended opponents and found the maneuverability of Strand, when using this grenade, did not suffer. I love the melee, it is Yondu's whistling arrow that applies a Debuff to most targets, it even seems to cut boss damage. The class ability is solid too. If I have a gripe, it's about the shoehorning of Nazerac into the story suddenly. It happens once, then that is it. I also didn't realise the lights were people. I had a problem with Nimbus, but only because he reminds me of a friend who's literally this guy. Down to the awkward poses and such. So, I chalked that up to being his personality and let that go. Otherwise, I have been really enjoying the aesthetic of Neomuna and it's digital city, Tron retro meets The Matrix vibes. I found one bug, Hunter's Strand Class Ability just stops working. For no reason for like 2 minutes. 8/10. I enjoy it, I keep playing and will continue to do so.

  • So you found one thought out review and that somehow validates the other negative reviews? The reality is that there’s an entire community of people addicted to hating Destiny so it’s actually completely reasonable to question the negative reviews. Particularly as it’s a game where is one streamer doesn’t like it you’d get hundreds claiming that it sucks without even playing the content. It’s even more reasonable to be skeptic of any reviews when the DLC has been out for less than a week and they’re user reviews. A person know’s only given the game a day or two either rushed through the content and didn’t try to enjoy it or is just full of -blam!-.

  • So the positive review can have a bias but you are ignoring that the negative reviews can have a bias as well toward hating the game in general. And no one can make an actually reasonable through out review for the dlc in as little of time as there was between launch and when those reviews were posted. But you blindly trust a random dude’s opinion just because he’s good at bsing. Like sure he probably gets good grades on his reports for English but long doesn’t mean valid. Nore does short mean invalid. Nore does silence mean hatred.

  • Tell me how that means no one likes the story? Tell me that means no one likes the story while you’re talking to someone who has enjoyed it. Because I’ve been enjoying the story. But I wouldn’t write an review for meticritic, nore would most people. Like 11 people give reviews, how is that representative of the thousands that have actually played it?

  • I haven’t finished the entire dlc though. I’m not going to come out with an opinion before all the paid content is out. Yet here you are giving more weight to a random dude’s review just because it uses more words. Word count doesn’t make a review more valid. Nor do reviews before all content of a product is out have any weight at all. Meticritic just shows it’s uselessness for dlc reviews by allowing any reviews to be counted. And you just show ignorance by claiming that more words means a review is more valid.

  • Wow, you’re apparently super easy to impress if all a person has to do is make up -blam!- about the campaign and just say things randomly for you to trust their opinion. Just because he mentioned different parts that doesn’t mean anything. Particularly not that soon after the dlc dropped. Anyone could play the first mission, write a long post and apparently you’d be impressed and value their opinion the most. I really hope more people are smarter than that. And that short reply is just as valid. People who understand that most just want to know if it’s worth buying or not, not be told how to feel about things which could color other people’s experience are just as reliable, if not more reliable, as a source as someone who writes a long review after limited play time. Like if my review is “Lightfall is a lot of fun. Challenge is a bit overdone but just play on classic if you’re solo.” Then you don’t think my opinion is as valuable as someone who played for maybe less than a day and then just wrote a lot of words.

  • Why would I touch on any of those thing? My review gives my opinion and a review should tell nothing more. You’d have to be a real pompous -blam!- to think that when someone is looking for a review that you should tell them now to feel about every aspect of the game, particularly when you only have a low understanding of that content because you rushed through it rather than actually explored it.
