I use to love this weapon however it was nerfed into the ground the RPM change really hurt this weapon this needs to be brought back how it was prenerf

23 RepliesStill the most viable Oracle killer tho

2 RepliesDefinitely a RIP for that weapon. It didn’t need a nerf nor a change. It needs to be reverted and all the Machineguns especially legendaries need a severe buff in both PVE and PVP. A buff doesn’t necessary have to mean a buff in damage. Increasing any of the lacking stats or providing a better perk option should be looked at as solutions for buffing or nerfing in the future for any weapon or armor.

3 RepliesXeno was never a great option plenty of other options were and still are better for total damage, better for DPS, and better for general add clear. It was a easily obtainable decent/good option It still fills that goal of being easily obtained, easy to use, and decent/good If anything it needs a reload speed buff

3 RepliesIf Bungie is going to create a long, arduous, progressive questline for a particular gun, they should leave it alone. Test this stuff before you release the gun and then don't touch it. Everyone has the same chance to earn and use one. All these gun nerfs just make people want to stop playing short term, long term, permanently.

2 RepliesXenophage was one of my favorite exotics. Now, it’s clunky, and just boring to use with the RPM change. I definitely agree it needs to be changed back to the way it was.

3 RepliesA few observations: 1. Generally speaking, it is not a bad thing to have a rotating meta for weapons, it's way better than having a single weapon or loadout reign as the only option to use for years (ie Mountaintop/Recluse/Anarchy). 2. Xenophage didn't really get nerfed into the ground, it had its RPM decreased and damage increased which results in a 10% reduction in DPS, but a 20% increase to total damage. In the grand scheme of things, that's more of a buff than a nerf. 3. It isn't that Xenophage got nerfed, but rather so many other things either got buffed or were introduced in Season of the Lost. Particle Deconstruction makes all Fusion Rifles top tier by default which makes Xenophage a less desirable option for damage. Same goes for Gjallarhorn which is top notch upon release. 4. Xenophage's utility is not fully defined by the DPS output, but rather the fact that it is good for most situations. I'll use Oracles as an example, not only can it one shot the oracles, but it is a top tier add clearing weapon for Minotaurs and Hobgoblin snipers around the arena. Xenophage is also very useful in many other raid/dungeon encounters. Not everything needs to be about DPS.

It's ok, but just very situational

5 RepliesEverytime they nerf a good weapon.....it becomes irrelevant. When was the last time you used or saw Anarchy being used. That should not be the case.

I use to love this weapon however it was nerfed into the ground the RPM change really hurt this weapon this needs to be brought back how it was prenerf
Nerfed RPM but got a damage buff.

1 ReplyDon’t worry it will get a buff two years from now Just look at Whisper……
-
1 ReplyI ran both Sleeper and Xeno on the final boss in the new dungeon and Xeno did way more damage. that's all I know for fact on the changes made to Xeno (and buff to Sleeper). Still love me some Xeno action but with my GJally it will indeed RIP!
-
4 RepliesIt does more damage now than it did before though.
-
2 RepliesThey didn’t nerf it. The dps stayed the same. You get more total damage bc each shot is worth more now.
-
10 RepliesEdited by Rogue: 12/14/2021 2:45:58 AMThe on paper DPS is less, but the slower RPM means you’re more likely to land your shots in a real situation. Compare any low and high rpm variant of the same archetype, the higher rpm will always have less overall accuracy. The gun is still functional, and excels on targets without crit spots. That’s all it needs to be.

Situational gun, won't work everywhere, but its fine in the right place, which isn't many...
-
5 RepliesIt's fine as it is. It was never meant to be a boss dmg weapon.......per Bungie's wording.... All LMGs (which Xenophage is) they're built with add clear in mind. Xeno's still good. It's not optimal but it doesn't need to be. The real problem is the community getting encircled by "MUST HAVE META" rather than it's good and isn't garbage.
-
It's still really good... Guns can't be good at everything.. Otherwise what's the point in having variety.
-
The thing was, it wasn’t even op. There were only very few situations where it was the meta. There was no reason whatsoever to mess with it at all. Goes for a lot of things though. I think they just want to sell ornaments for weapons that are hot now. Anarchy is like the only ornament I actually paid silver for. Piece of trash now. Honestly never touched it again after nerf. Xeno I only use to one-shot oracles. That’s it.
-
Did they fix that weird jamming issue it has sometimes when being fired?
-
Yep. Don’t really understand the nerf to Xeno. We didn’t even enter into a machine gun meta this season. If anything, Machine Guns need another buff cos they feel very meh. When they decide to buff Machine Guns again, hopefully they’ll release a catalyst for Xeno too.
-
Yes,Omar deserves better

3 RepliesEdited by X_GamesMode: 12/14/2021 2:28:20 PMMachine guns in general need a blanket buff in pve , miss the days of shooting the ogre boss in menagerie with thunder lord 😬🤙🏻
-
But think a little bit in longtherm... Maybe we get a machine gun mod next season and they dont want it to be OP? I dont care anyways because i dont use it, i have other stuff that i like a lot more than xeno ;)
-
Yeah I loved using Xenophage solely because of it felt like a Anti Material Rifle But now I use a Particle Deconstruction build

Edited by crithon: 12/14/2021 12:12:02 PMit's been one LONG Season, that bug inside the amber is so lonely.

8 RepliesIt's laughable now. When Xenophage first came out, it was underwhelming. Then they buffed it. Then they nerfed it. And I see gamers here are saying it's underwhelming again. This kind of game management is just laughable now. 😂😂😂 I've been saying this for a long time. Powercreep sells. That's what they're doing. Selling power. Desperation! 😂😂😂
