Cheating is the most minor issue concerning cross platform play. It’s only one of a myriad of issues, and in the grand scheme of things it’s the most easily solvable. It’s safe to assume that the majority of console players are still playing on PS4 or Xbox One. They’re instantly at a significant disadvantage against PC players who are playing in 60 FPS with maxed FOV settings. Even with increased recoil on MnK, it still enables vastly superior target acquisition and movement mobility than controller. The sandbox might be the same but the playability differences between pc and console are night and day.
Cheating is relatively easy fixes to implement. Fundamental differences in playability and performance superiority is not fixable.

Whether a fix is easy is irrelevant if Bungie doesnt implement it. A few cheaters is often enough to cause an average player to quit the game, while a lot of people will simply continue to play through a disadvantage. Which is worse is debatable, but really a moot point since we will be getting both.

new gens are currently running at 120 FPS in crucible.. you're playing ppl already on your old gen console with superior performance.... anndd...... Also, incorrect. On PC so many use controllers and don't miss a beat. Half of you have no clue what you're talking about. Besides, the amount of aim assist giving to console players is ridiculous and will almost certainly be an advantage when the changes are made. New Gens will provide an equal playing field in terms of performance. New gen should just be in its own world while new gen/pc cross play. If i'm running on old gen I don't want to play new gen or PC

The fact that cheating is a minor issue shows how bad it will be.
