You do realize that the reason you had more to spend is because you had less things to buy, having only one character, right? This change may benefit players with only one character, but will also be a detriment to players that have 2 or 3. Not only that, but it'll make getting enough Bright Dust to purchase Eververse items each week even more difficult, which will cause those players to end up missing out on those items more frequently, unless they cough up some money for Silver. Given how the Season Pass usually is, players would have to grind out bounties nonstop for XP to level up the Season Pass to get the Bright Dust. It'll end up doing the opposite of what Bungie intended, which was to reduce bounty fatigue. They could have just added more Bright Dust to the Season Pass without cutting the amount from the Weekly Bounties in half. Or, you know, take the Bright Dust out of the Weekly Bounties, and add them to the Weekly Milestones instead. Would have been way smarter than this. Unless they're planning on reducing the amount of cosmetics in Eververse, or lowering the prices, this change they came up with is just stupid on every level.

  • The point I’m making is that I have always had more then enough bright dust for everything I wanted and I buy a lot of stuff from the bright dust store every week and I don’t try to grind bright dust at all. You guys want to hoard bright dust like it’s going out of style but honestly how much of it do you actually even use?

Just because you buy 1-4 different things in one season with what you have doesn't mean the economy and distribution of BD isn't broken, it was bad now, now they're making it worse People keep telling bungie to just make BD drop from doing stuff ingame, be it pve stuff (small 1-5 BD for killing mobs, 7-9 for majors, 15 for ultras, make raids give 100 on final boss, have weekly pinnacles give minimum 40), pvp stuff (pinnacles min 40, match completions 10) or anything else but nope instead of doing it the simple way they'd rather tie it to the Pass where you'll only get BD once every X amount of ranks reached, which they also want to have a seasonal maximum meaning you'll not get nada after getting your full amount from inside those 100 ranks, it's a terrible idea just like the 400 shards for a prism at Spider when it'll cost less to buy it from Banshee despite him needing glimmer, mats and cores.

  • I’m not buying 1-4 items a season I’m buy 1-4 items a week to fill out my collections which means I’m buying exotic ornaments sparrows and ships which are not cheap and yet I still have a minimum of 1500 bright dust every week and usually more. It takes me one day to get the bright dust I need when I’m not even trying to grind it. Also the whole thing with the spider is actually great because I don’t have the enhancement cores to keep buying prisons from banshee but I have thousands of legendary shards so I am a ok with spending some to get a few prisms. It’s not supposed to be better or cheaper then banshee it’s supposed to be an alternative. Once again this community will complain about every little thing Bungie does. I can name 2 things I disagree with for the beyond light release: 1. The removal of the ramen coupon and other lore related items is not needed as those should be token of your adventures 2. Revoker still giving you your bullet back if you miss your shot thus rewarding bad players and misplays That’s it just two things I disagree with because unlike these forums I tend to actually look for the good things Bungie does instead of focus on the bad. As uncle Iroh once whiskey said “if you look for the light you can often see it but if you look for the dark that is all you will ever see”

  • What's crazy is. I will have have so much more bright dust now, because I only play one character and I DONT bounty grind more than PvP or gunsmith bounties. Now, while I'm happy that I'll have plenty of bright dust now, I am also pretty upset that Bungie is screwing over the people that dedicate more time than me. I hate grinding multiple characters, it isn't fun for me. But I'm being rewarded for spending less time in the game than other people. Idk. I don't have a strong opinion on the matter either way, since I see the plus and negative a bit too much for me to have too strong an opinion. Though, I lean more so on the side that this decision is overall screwed, because they could've added more bright dust to the season pass while also keeping bounty bright dust the same.

  • Don't feel bad. Look at it this way, when USA Unemployment was paying 600 bucks on top of what else they offered normally to people on Unemployment, how many people "took time off due to covid" just to get more money that they would have gotten actually working? Same thing will happen here. The hardcore farmers will see that they can earn a more fair amount of bright dust by simply focusing one character and putting in less effort, and the smart ones will take advantage of that system and start playing their favorite class exclusively, while the stupid ones keep on grinding out three characters until they eventually burn themselves out. When they do that, they'll do one of three things: give in to the new system and focus on their favorite class, say "-blam!- the new system!" and quit playing the game, or they'll insist the extra grind is worth it and keep doing 3 characters. In all 3 cases, you have no reason to feel sorry for them, because all of their suffering is of their own volition and of their own choosing.
