I have accumulated a lot of planetary materials from the planets that are being vaulted, I use them to purchase upgrade modules and was wondering if we will be able to use them for this after planets are vaulted. If we are going to loose them I need to try to spend them before end of season. Bungee should give us details on how they are going to handle planetary materials now so we will know what to do with them.

Bungie can not provide any answers to any of the questions the community has been asking about a DLC that was already supposed to have been released. I think they can not answer the questions because they do not know. I have lost most of my confidence in Bungie but I sure hope Destiny survives.

47 RepliesDon't dismantle them and spend them normally for now. We'll talk about what will happen to these materials in the future.

They get sent back to Fenchurch.

Considering how bungie does things lately, i would say either 1) they will be removed some time in the future or 2) nothing is done but whatever comes after the vaulting is a re-painted icon of said resources that you have to re-farm because its "new", either-way it will serve to extend the life of whatever "new" content they decide to sell back to the players.

16 RepliesStill can’t believe they won an award for community involvement!😂

For sunset destination? Expect to get some glimmer!

What about those faction tokens some of us still have lying around?

2 RepliesEdited by Cinderchar: 8/28/2020 12:49:41 AMTurn them in to their venders. You can still get Y1 weapons to drop masterworked which you can then break down for cores. I can’t see Bungie coming up with anything more lucrative to spend then on but I’ll save around 1,000 each planet just in case I guess.
-
We should keep them in our vaults until Bungie see fit to pull the locations they relate to back out of the recycle bin. They might become useful at some unspecified point in the future.
-
15 RepliesThey're just going to disappear like they never existed. Just like Bungies integrity.

Edited by Ruuod: 8/27/2020 8:43:57 PMmy guess: they'll stay in your inventory. you have to dismantle them. one by one. with 10s dismantle duration each.

19 RepliesOh dear! Are you deliberately trolling the forum moderators? This is the sort of post most forum moderators can only dream about!! What a wonderful opportunity you've given them to not only prove they can communicate with their community but also be helpful by answering a fair and easy question. Surely this isn't something they need to feed back to the devs? If you don't get a response, that speaks volumes about what they actually think of us people who pay their bills. Ggs guardian ;)

Grinding material is so annoying that I never did it, but your concern is a very valid one. In a "real" scenario, such materials should be kept in the game and gain a lot of value due to becoming impossible to acquire, but I'm pretty sure it won't go in this way.

*looks at the trashcan* I mean...I kinda hope they land somewhere in this area.
-
There is probably going to be an event or some kind of trade in for them before the update.
-
Keep hold of them, Bungie has said they’ll be needed, but haven’t said why.
-
There's this fellow in the Tangled Shore called Spider, sometimes he buys planetary materials for legendary shards. Then use the same shards to buy enhancement cores off him.
-
9 RepliesJust use them. They’re in the game to be used in the game. Why hoard mats? Makes no sense
-
They will have some use. But we don't know what. Odds are you will likely convert them to something more relevant.
-
Hang into them Cozmo said
-
They disappear most likely, better cash them in before the planet is gone!

4 RepliesBungie will use all your materials to create a new cookbook.

I still have my Ramen card from Y1 solstice ;-;
