Remember Elemental Primary weapons?
Original Destiny we had Legendary scout rifle A Vision of Confluence with solar damage and auto fire. We had arc damage Zhallo Super cell and Fatebringer, and Void damage Word of Crota and Atheon's Epilogue. All were wonderful weapons with unique perks and well worth the modest effort to obtain. How useful would it be to have all 3 elements when doing a Master or GM level Nightfall ?

I think you’ve forgotten that the only reason that was viable as a thing was because your secondary weapon had to be a special weapon who’s ammo was rarer.

When it comes to master and gm nightfalls I’d personally value high burst damage for champions over the extra elemental primary. As you can easily cover all 3 elements as a team it isn’t as important as something like Izanagi’s. And anyway- it’s unlikely you’ll find all elemental shields in one strike

I feel the novelty of an elemental primary isn't really worth it under the current system. Not to mention, whilst some were amazing, the majority were not. Those unique perks normally only applied to the raid too, outside of white nail on black hammer.

6 RepliesThere are perks for this like osmosis. There’s also exotics like hard light and borealis that have all elements. Would be nice if they get updated with stasis, but not likely.
