My son’s account was banned some time ago and we would like to find out why. I have read that he should have received an email stating the reason, but he has not received any. His PSN is loneStarr12.

Hey there! The #Help forums are not able to assist with appeals of restrictions or bans. However, there is a process in place for you to appeal your ban or restriction. Please review the Contact Form: Appeal Ban or Restriction article found here. Please note that, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that your ban or restriction will be overturned. For more information on Bungie's policy regarding bans and restrictions, please review the policy here.

Your son cheated and this is a reflection on you Stop blaming others for your bad parenting

Howdy! You don't. Bungie does not give any reason to account restriction or bans other than that the user has violated the terms listed in their policy and after an manual inspection, they were given a ban. Bungie always takes suspected cheating and violations of their policies very seriously and they have a very thorough inspection of each account before processing a ban. Their ban policy can be found here. If you think your account was wrongfully banned or restricted then you can make an appeal here. Please note, that should more than seven business days go by with no response on your appeal, it was most likely denied.

Edited by toneDef Weary: 7/24/2020 2:57:32 PMIt is unlikely you will find out why, but I will say that the hidden match history is usually an indicator of shady practices. Was this a full ban(he got a message stating "...Not so fast...") or was this a restriction from matchamade activities(can still play the game, but no PvP)? If a full ban, then he must have done something very deserving, as it is difficult to get banned on console. If it is a restriction, then that would have been due to a poor connection quality that was warned about on several occasions prior to a permanent restriction being placed. Account Restriction and Banning Policies To file an appeal: Ban Appeal Edit - I did just realise that he has cross-save set up. If, while on PC, he had any kind of software that can inject/modify code running at the same time as Destiny, this will earn you a ban. These programs can be, but are not limited to: aimbots/cheats/trainers/mods even if not intended for Destiny. Software for school/work used in game creation and coding will also get flagged.

2 RepliesEdited by VTHokies: 7/24/2020 4:55:13 PMYou're mistaken. They don't send out emails with the reason for a ban. He was likely cheating in PvP/trials. The fact he has his game history hidden is fishy.

12 RepliesMust have been banned a while ago because says he hasn't played this season but I would suspect his abnormally high win ratio in comp and trials shows possible manipulation especially on console
