Video games are partly to blame for mass shootings, Donald Trump has said.
Games that "celebrate violence" should be discouraged and made harder to buy, the president suggested.
"We must stop the glorification of violence in our society," he said during a speech in the wake of a spate of shootings. "This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace.

If they can't do anything about helping mitigate the broken minded from going out and shooting into crowds of innocent people, then they won't be able to do anything about something that is a non issue. It's all deflection and smoke and mirrors.

1 ReplyLol. I play violent videogames 5 days a week. I'm also a college educated adult, fought in Iraq (OIF II) as an infantryman (11B), have a clean record and don't own a firearm (by choice). I'm dangerous....

Edited by Uncanny_Vale: 8/7/2019 7:44:47 PMHow exactly does he intend to stop people making violent video games? Pretty sure video games would be protected by the first amendment of the constitution.

1 Reply🤦♂️ Not surprised Trump would jump on that idiot wagon though.

1 ReplyIt always cracks me up how video games is the last straw for some of his devout followers. Everything else he does is A-OK until he comes for "muh games" really shows the lack of empathy and sense of reality his followers have.

Because video games are responsible for the fact that we're a nation that has more guns than it does people.... Yep....that'll fix it. Bread and Circuses.

The nerds of the planet are not to blame. Most hardcore gamers geek out and wouldn’t hurt a fly. They might rage quit but not kill. Pleas pay more attention to the freaking psychos Mr. President.

I bet ya a bakers dozen of cookies his cultists will agree with him though, or at the very least attack you for daring to speak ill of Glorious Leader Trump.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/29535447/ This has been studied numerous times over the years, and not by some idotic group of people, but by very smart, highly educated and extensively experienced professionals of the field. Video games do not promote violence. End of story. No come backs, no "what ifs", it's the end of the story. To me, it's just one way to try and avoid tightening gun control, because they sure do love their fully automatic weapons that literally no one bar the military require.

If you play violent video games and then think it's ok to go shoot a bunch of people you were going to go and shoot a bunch of people anyway.

1 ReplyWe must stop the glorification of violence in our society," he said during a speech in the wake of a spate of shootings. "This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace. That is really good to hear. Is it the only thing we can do? No. But is it a step in the right direction? Totally.

1 ReplyHe’s 73 years old. Politicians, especially the older ones, seem to blame video games more for violence. They usually choose that as the scape goat because it’s an easy thing to blame, when in reality they just lack knowledge on it. They end up blaming something they don’t understand because that’s the easiest thing to do. Trump’s not going to bother doing research on studies showing that video games don’t cause violence, nor will almost any politician.

1 ReplyIf hot girls would just suck it up, and suck up all the weirdos and ugly dudes (especially the dudes that are both) we probably wouldn’t have mass shootings. C’mon girls put the future of our society on your back!!
joking.
