The main thing that makes pc gameplay stand out to us console players is two things. Resolution and FoV. The FoV being further out makes Destiny 2 so much cleaner and I believe that it would be an amazing idea to give it to consoles.

4 RepliesEdited by GSXHeckler: 6/3/2019 11:32:43 AMFor all the people saying consoles can't handle this, please change that to Bungie or Destiny can't handle it. The entire Borderlands collection on PS4 among other games already do this. Never judge what the industry is capable of based on what Bungie does. Their gunplay may be great but their optimization and QOL are behind other games that came out before Destiny 1.

1 ReplyWhat it needs more than that is to have the crosshair in the middle of the screen like the pc version WHERE IT SHOULD BE. Not this lowered crap bungo always insists on
-
I was very pleased I could do this in Apex

Edited by michael: 6/4/2019 2:26:10 AMD2 console should have a fov slider and be 60 fps. a 30 fps triple A title in the current year is laughable
-
Doubt consoles could handle it since they already struggle enough running the game as it is.
-
Actually it’s mouse and keyboard but
-
21 RepliesId rather have 60 fps on console. If halo 5 can do it why cant Destiny.

5 RepliesPeople want badly to cite various things like "system capabilities"......... The issue is that bungie wants a /standardized experience" across all platforms. On the pro and xbonex (console name or uncreative user name? You choose) they could provide options. You can have 4k, or, you can have higher fps* or you can have a wider fov. You can't have everything but you can choose what you want... They just deliberately chose not to do that. They provided adaptive 4k and hdr because Sony and Microsoft literally forced them to, they had intended to not support the mid gen consoles having any different play experience until the matter was taken out of their hands. So the reason you don't have an fov slider for mid gen consoles is they just don't want to give you one. FPS* Yes they can. Bungie has already admitted the bottle neck excuse wasn't true and they did it literally weeks into the game when people called bs. Their final statement was "yes we absolutely could have rendered the game at 60 fps but for the hardware capabilities of the playstation 4 and xbox one, it would have required overall smaller landscapes than the ones we wanted to produce (landscapes that are overall void of actual content by the way) so we locked the frame rate at 30 so that we could create a larger world"... When the mid gen consoles came out they were asked about it again and their response was "well with the game coming to PC in a few weeks you'll be able to buy as big an advantage as you can afford as we will not be locking framerate on pc. I literally cannot imagine why anyone would think that a company that lied about there being an invisible sprint cooldown in game for two years and told players that they probably just had a "malfunctioning controller" until finally admitting "okay fine yes there's a cooldown but we'll let you turn it off by using this item now will you just shut up over it..." would be honest now... Every time it comes up... "Ahhhh bungie said that it's because of a processor bottle neck and bungie would never lie to us"... Bungie literally said they could render the game in 60fps if they had made some adjustment sot production so clearly the hardware can pump 60fps if the playable area is restricted such as in pvp "IT'S NOT TRUE BUNGIE SAID IT'S A BOTTLE NECK JUST IGNORE THEY SAID THEY COULD DO 60 FPS IT'S THE BOTTLE NECK IT'S THE BOTTLE NECK DON'T LOOK AT THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN KNEEL BEFORE THE GIANT HEAD OF LUKE SMITH!"

4 RepliesEdited by Anathema: 6/3/2019 6:05:11 PM>Inb4 "the consolez can't handle a higher FOV! Well then how comes that every modern BF title has a FOV slider which doesn't make it a lowfps fest? A 64 player conquest server has WAY more action than a game like Destiny ever will and it runs smoothly on every modern console
-
2 RepliesNot gonna happen, but feel free to play on PC and get as much FoV as you want.
-
Console barely keeps 30fps. Unless you want to play at 20fps constantly it wouldn't work
-
1 ReplyBungie's old game engine can't run it. Until consoles and game engines get updated. You're stuck...

Edited by SHOCKWAVE 134: 6/3/2019 6:49:44 PMIf Destiny 2 would play on my new Soulja Boy console I bet it would have that option. It plays other games like a beast. The graphics are PC like.

Destiny already runs like crap on Console
-
6 RepliesJust wait for next gen

6 RepliesDestiny is poorly optimized as it is. We can barely load our menus on console, yet you want a fov slider? Simply put, current gen consoles cant handle a fov slider with destiny. We are capped at 30fps and at most times we can barely reach that.
-
5 RepliesThe problem is that console is already struggling to run D2 when things get hairy. Increasing your FoV may sound nice but it will also affect how your game runs as it will chug a lot more often.

We have much greater control over the visual settings like Anti-Aliaising, shadows etc which allows us to have a much better looking game but resolution is not the stand out difference at all.. I play at 1080p with everything maxed, 102 Fov and motion blur turned off I lock the game to 60FPS due to tearing... I need a better monitor.

29 RepliesLol, good luck getting that to work on those potato’s, can’t even hold 30 FPS at lowest fov, consoles suck.
-
10 RepliesEdited by Fishyb: 6/3/2019 11:33:48 AMConsoles don’t have the grunt to handle D2 with a fov slider, it would suddenly double resources being used on screen. Not going to happen unfortunately. Edit. Included D2 in my post as that’s what I was originally referring too.
-
That ps5 though
-
It's not even optimized, FoV slider is out of the question unfortunately.
-
It needs it but will never get it. There’s not enough processing power. Also it can’t discriminate against people who own day one ( slower) consoles.
-
i play 105 😂

Yes please
