I think Annual Pass styled content isn’t the best move. So far, it has been dry and lacking. Bungie definitely seems to pull off some greatness with larger content drops. The Taken King was amazing as too was Forsaken. The smaller packs weren’t very well received. We should really have a Forsaken-sized DLC this September as opposed to an unsatisfactory Annual Pass.
EDIT: How different, if during D1, would things be if Bungie released an annual pass instead of TTK?
EDIT: A lot of people seem to be mistaking me; it seems there won’t be a large content job this September. Anon the Nine said we’ll just have another annual pass for Year 3 and nothing more. If that’s the case, Year 3 will be dry. Much more dry than if we just had a Forsaken-sized drop.
An Annual pass could be a great supplement to a large content drop, but would be underwhelming on its own.

43 RepliesI look at it this way: Would I rather spend $30 on the annual pass where I get all the forges and their secrets, grind for their exotics and "god roll" weapons, a new raid, and some decent events like the Dawning with two more similar sized content drops waiting... Or The Dark Below and then have to wait 9+ months for anything else to drop. Look, I find the forges quite repetitive. I've got eveything I want from them and feel no need to continue grinding them. I'm not particularly excited about the coming season of "more Gambit". It's still miles better and far more valuable to me than 9 months of nothing. I'm in the top 1% of time played on PS4 and am glad to have a game I can slide into and play as little or as much as I want and still be "competitive" and not feel burned out. Frankly, I think most of the complaints stem from players that, for whatever reason, feel the need to play only one game for 10 hours every... single... day... Destiny 2 isn't that title. I think any game where you have to log that kind of time with that kind of consistency is a bad thing. People need to learn to manage their own expectations and play habits better.
