Anyone else just suddenly lost interest in this game?
I have 2 characters around the 550 mark and I was perfectly happy playing up until last Tuesday or Wednesday. After that I can't bring myself to put destiny 2 in my disc tray whatsoever😂🤔. I looked at the details for festival of the lost also to try bring back the spark to me but it just doesn't want to return. I think I'm actually quitting destiny without even having to try and bring myself off of it.
Edit: Wow. First time trending😁. Thanks for all the mature feedback. I was expecting comments like "delete your characters and game and stop looking for attention" or the "git gud" trolls but no. There is some really interesting feedback. Thanks for that👍

Yea I'm about where you are. My "main" is around 545 and my alts are 525-530ish I've only had the game for about 3 weeks and I haven't logged in for 3 or 4 days; it's pretty boring to me now because of their progression on rails system. I MUST do the activities in the correct order and not just the activities I want to participate in, but also crucible and gambit which I'd never step foot into without being forced. Then it's discovered that prime engram drops are also on rails based on kill counts and the abysmal drop rate of exotics makes for some very unexciting gameplay and progression. I enjoy the gunplay and gun variety and even build variety in D2 but I can't really get much out of it because a) why would I trade in my masterworked weapons to use different weapons that I don't have the cores to MW? b) I can't really try different builds because I didn't play y1 so I have only like 10 exotics to build around, hallowfire chest being the only one that really changes up much for me (thanks xur). c) most exotic weapons I have have the catalysts in prestige raids, which makes those weapons now and forever useless to me. Why? Do like blizz and make old content soloable, please. keep current DLC catalysts in raids, whatever. Also infusion just feels bad. My character looks like complete trash and there's nothing I can do about it, despite having some eververse "mogs" and such. I also have gear that's higher LL but worse traits and I can't afford to infuse as a new player, so it just sits in my inventory and I bounce between 0-10 MW cores as I try to infuse if stuff is 10+ LL higher. Of course I always take advantage of "free" infusions with same name gear, but that's uncommon. Overall it's just the "on rails" feel that's the worst. Everything but everything is time gated. Once I finish my weekly stuff on reset day I struggle to find a reason to log in. It's simply not fun. A way to target specific exotics also feels necessary since they are ungodly rare. Who knows if I'll ever get the insurmountable skullfort or sentinel shoulders (forget name) that I want to build around. Could be next kill or could be never. Feels like never since I only get exotics from xur in the last 1.5 weeks despite long LONG hours of play.

Not at all. Having all the fun in the world specialy pvp. Maybe you over did it with playing time. Take a break and comeback.

I got my buddy back into Destiny with Forsaken since he hasn't played since TTK in D1. After a few weeks we're both kind of burnt out. We play maybe 2 times a week now, and that's just because we already got the annual pass so we're committed to doing the raid at least once. The drops are too insignificant, and the grind forces you to play things you don't want to. We suffered through 2 matches of Gambit and decided we'd just do the 3rd a different time for that milestone... Such a shame because it has so much potential to be a great game.

Or you can just take a break till dlc4 altogether. Festival of the Lost is also here in less than a week. That's got stuff to do.

Not alone, I still play but find very few people in the social spaces or planets compared to forsaken release. My guess is.... 1 a lot of AAA games out, tomb raider, spider man, cod just came out, assassins creed 2 it's basically D1 reskin. It is I'm sorry, it's all the stuff they took out of the first game and readded it in, it gets a bit tiresome after a while 3 the way that bungie treats long standing players. By that I mean..... I purchased D2 special edition for £90 and got a sword that's redundant and was from the get go, a banner that's trash, and an emote......... Now the expansion that I has preorderd is going to be FREE for new forsaken players...... And for a pat on the back I get a banner, 2 emotes and a shader WHICH WILL BE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE IN DECEMBER!!!!! And some boons.......... Even worse people who just bought forsaken and pretty much all the content for less than I paid for the previous content (so they all get all 4 games for less than I paid for 3), they get the same deal. For the long standing loyal players who are basically founders of the game that almost sunk deeper than Davy Jones' locker, get.... A banner........ That's poor show in my eyes.

You’re kind of at that midpoint in leveling where you’re not really high enough to do the endgame stuff, like farming the raid or nightfall, and you’re not new enough that the stuff you are doing is fun anymore. My advice is you can do one of 2 things, keep grinding through this slump, or just don’t play for a while. The games still going to be here if you choose to come back. Don’t sweat it, I quit and completely swore off this game when Osiris came out. Now look at me, giving words of encouragement n shit... lol

Mmmmm......a little. I'm still finding plenty to do, for now. I feel a little of the spark that Destiny 1 gave me for so long. Forsaken is good, but it still didn't excite me as much as D1. Even Rise of Iron was more thrilling to me.

It just got a bit repetitive, I grinded solidly for almost two weeks to get the Broadsword, after I got it, it kinda burnt me out.. So I got hold of Assassins Creed Odyssey and to be honest it’s been a refreshing change.. (it’s good, it’s just a shame they didn’t bring multiplayer back with AC, that’s all I’d play before I got hold of Destiny) and RDR2 is out in a couple of weeks and I’ll play that no doubt.. I’m in no rush to get my characters up to 600.. I’ve not given up on Destiny, I just fancied a change..

Kinda but this happens with everything. Nothing can be new forever. I still enjoy going on to raid and play some PVP but the drive to play has gone down since launch. That is natural tho.

Starting to. The rng aspect is killing it for me. Two raids and a shit ton of repeat raid gear. Bullshit.

Like everyone's saying. Grind. We get they didn't want us to rush. But, now I just feel in a deja Vu loop. Doing the same thing each week. Same types of things (strikes, Gambit, crucible). FotL will be nice. And I want that AR. But, RDR2 and Fallout 76 Beta are coming shortly after. I've been playing since the first week of August. Straight. And I'm not even 580 yet. Although I haven't done the raid yet. But, it took me 3+ weeks to feel comfortable to do it? That's BS.

Its annoying to read "oh wow, I'm trending." Like it's some feat of strength or something. #facepalm On your subject, its the grind. Some people can't take it. I'm all about it, makes things feel worthy and an accomplished feeling when finally reaching your goal.

It's totally fine to get burnt out, especially if you already have two characters up there. The same thing happened to me after only getting one character up to 580. I took about a week off from it to play stuff like Seige and Overwatch with my friends, and that helped a lot. Maybe it's just been my luck, but I always tend to get more exotics and legendaries when coming back from those breaks.

1 ReplyYep! It hit me on Saturday. Hit 600 on my main and just lost interest. One month in and hundreds of hours and no new exotic. All I can say is that the RNG in this version is the worst I have ever seen in Destiny. It's like it intentionally punishes you for playing more. Don't get me wrong, I think Bungie did great with forsaken. The story was fun and the raid is one of the best raids since Atheon. But it just too much grinding for an unrewarding experience. Plus the loot pool is way-way-way to small. It should have had many more weapons and exotics. As for the exotics?, I really don't see any of them worth the effort of grinding for. None of them are that great or as a must have. Most of the ones my friends have gotten have just been put in their vaults. As for PVP. Can we say nothing but cancer? The small maps and small team strats are just not fun. D1 had its PVP problems but at least it was fun. Gambit is my one bright spot in playtime. I really do enjoy going in with my friends and having a blast. But to go in solo is like going to a dentist that doesn't use novacaine. pure hell and not worth the effort. ALSO. A big note to Bungie. The game is starting to play like pure shit on a PS4 because of all the effects and details. Dial it back a bit so that the game can function. High end PC's are having a great time but us PS4 and xbox players are suffering major lag and frame drops, not to mention load screens from hell.

Maybe raids going from 8-11 hours for a world's first time to a Datto time of 24 for Last Wish has something to do with it....

Did raid last night 2 drops stolen by repeat exotic(telesto and gemini jesters) make you question why you put in effort to do hard content to then getting punched in the gut makes you want to put the game down.

They took a wrong turn with destiny 2, they got lost in a very dark and infinite forest, the vex milk is on all our faces, our guardians are cosmetic and everyone starting a new game design wants an Eververse. ERIS MORN will return and instead of EPIC Experience... it's going to be more let down... it's very sad because as soon as we went to the Dreaming City for the first time I had a couple flashbacks of Elder Scrolls online lol. I recently wrote a post tonight wishing my last wish I suppose that destiny could meet a darksouls experience and make this game pop. There my last wish but I'm not an Ahamkara so I guess my curse is over too :(
