The only way I really am able to gauge if a game is a flop is by the number of active players in my roster.
During taken king there were consistenly 4-5 pages full of people playing. Right now for D2 there is barely enough for 1 page.
Bungie you want to make money right? FIX THE GAME or else no-one will buy your DLC or the next game or bother with your increasingly pay to win model with eververse.
Get rid of the morons who made the decision to make D2 the utter flop that it is, bring back the team that made the Taken King.

16 RepliesHalf my clan is already moving on to other games as am I. The biggest complaint I hear is that other than some off exotics which they would like to have just to have them... There is no reason to do anything in the game. The weapons and armor are static so you only need each piece once. Both pvp playlists reward the same trash. Strikes have no specific gear so they are out. The raid just drops cosmetic variants of guns you can get elsewhere and is tedious as -blam!-. Adventures drop nothing unique or of value... Same applies to lost sectors. Public events are repetitve and only serve as the fastest exotic chance. And to top it all off... Bungie added a cap on how much loot you can receive from chests and such to 4 per 5 mins. There is literally a lot of content. Just no reason to bother with any of it.

Financially I'm sure this game is a big short term success. As for player satisfaction it clearly has some very big issues that need to be fixed in order to keep players interested enough to buy upcoming dlcs. I really think that Bungie are failing in that department. DLC sales will be very telling. This game could yet be a big financial flop.

Thanks for all the support, normally when someone posts anything negative towards Destiny/Bungie the whole forum attacks that person. It's such an eye opener to see that the majority of people agree with my negative comment. Nothing can change or improve if we don't acknowledge the issue. Keep posting and being vocal guardians, this game was the most amazing life changing game i ever played. I hope we can help foster change for the better.

1 Replypvp is the flop of the year. pve is pretty good but could use some changes (random weapon rolls, strike specific loot, re-introduce special weapons, etc)

7 RepliesGame is great. You drank way too much haterade today

9 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 9/29/2017 10:41:09 PMIt's not a flop in sales because there will always be people that will buy anything this company has to offer. Even if it's trash and they will try to justify it and say, "I love this game" But, it is a flop when it comes to quantity and quality in a game. There are other companies that make free to play games that put a hell of a lot more effort into their game then this, and this game has been worked on for 9 years. With 3 freaking years of mass amount of feedback. If the higher ups weren't so greedy, this game would be a hell of a lot better off and they would put the grunt back on making raids instead of ruining this game.

Its not a flop because -blam!-heads will keep buying just because bungies name is on it. No matter how shitty it gets people will keep lying to themselves saying the game is good.

I believe Luke Smith did do Taken King.
-
The video game industry as a whole sucks. Only reason d2 sold so well is that people are desperate for anything to play. Time will tell on d2. By Xmas the world will have decided.

2 RepliesDepends on who's thinking its a flop. To us gamers we might see it as a flop. Go on Destinytracker and it showed 3 million people playing. When you sell 3 million of anything, is that considered a flop? I think the investors of ATVI will think its a success if their stock goes up. Unfortunately, those are the people Bungie wants to make happy. Not us!

2 RepliesYou know that Luke Smith, who is the director for D2, was the director for Taken King?

1 ReplyWhen you close your eyes and you can't see anyone anymore, does that mean they no longer or never existed? Cause that's how your post reads.
-
3 RepliesYou gotta understand, when you post stuff like this all the bungie fan boys with destiny dicks as tramp stamps are gonna come out and defend this pile of turd. I agree with you, this game is a waste of time and money.

I hope its a flop that makes less cry babys on pc release
-
you ever hear of steam? plenty of failures there

The game itself is good but lacks enough content at this stage. In two sittings (roughly 4-5 hours each sitting),an experienced team, could do all the weekly milestones including the raid. Why they released the game without most of the content that The Taken King had is beyond me and if they are re-releasing it as paid DLC then i'm done with it, i wont be mugged off. Overall i'm enjoying the game but now have time to fit other games around it now that i can only increase my light a fraction every week.

The same team did ttk

4 RepliesDespite your feelings on the game, it can'ty possibly be labeled as a "flop" given the sales. Least of all when you're gauging player retention based on your friends list.
