Do you find yourself hating teammates more than enemies?

I find myself cursing and hating my teammates much more than enemies. I can certainly respect a player that's better than me (and if you check my stats you'll see there are quite a few of you out there much better than me) but god damn..... When you get the spark and they just sit back like I, the guy with the spark, is going to lead the charge. So I go "hey, I'll let someone else get it and plow the way with my super". So I wait for a teammate to get the spark, activate my super and push in killing about 3-4 enemies thinking "Damn I did a good job and we just got a dunk" Nope! Captain Dipshit is sitting in the middle with the spark and I get killed as the enemy spawns. Lack of situational awareness..... Why do randoms lack situational awareness? So many times I see them get flanked by big red blotches on the radar. I'll turn around to fight 2 - 3 enemies coming from behind, die thinking "hey my whole team was here, what happened" just to watch my oblivious team get pounded from behind as they never even turned around. I could go on but yeah. This isn't a thread about "gitting gud", It's not a thread asking for advice, and your little comment of "hurr durr get some friends" is not welcome. But I'm sure we have a good amount of people who lack any semblance of reading comprehension that will make these comments and I imagine they are the kind of people I, we, are complaining about in this thread. Simply letting off steam about playing solo and dealing with all these -blam!-in blueberries.

  • I just hate it when I have a teammate sticking with me and then they bail on me. I'll be watching my teams flank with 1 guy 2 guys from the other team show up I'm like we got this just to find out after trade with 1 of them that there was no we it was only I.

  • I once had a ridiculous game on Reach during a Team SWAT match. It was 4v4, full match and no one quit. For a fresh reminder: back then, the score was determined by number of kills; 1 kill = 1 point. I went off during this game. I had 41 kills and 9 deaths. As a team, we barely won 50-47. My teammates literally went 9-38. Years later, I still don't understand how my teammates were that bad. Thankfully, I've yet to encounter an entire squad of teammates on Destiny this bad.

  • Sign here if you've had an unnecessary death, caused by a teammate. i.e. Pushed into sniper lane or some ding dong steps in front as you fire a rocket.

In all PvP games I've played, I mainly rage about lag, bad mechanics and/or ineffective teammates. In BF games, I play a lot of Rush, and a lot of times when I'm on the attacking team and I see my teammates just run up and get shot and waste tickets, I just equip a sniper rifle and try to see how many headshots I can get before the round ends...no sense running towards the objective by myself. Sometimes its the opposite of that, more than half my team is snipers and myself and 1 or 2 other people are the only ones trying to get the objective.

      • I ran this run after my teammates failed to run the rift in the last match EVERY time. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/G0lden%20Hunt3r/video/32133684 Dont underestimate invisibility on radar for 10 seconds.

      • O is this control?, thought it was clash. O is this rift?, thought it was salvage. O are we playing supremacy?, thought it was clash. O is this 6v6?, thought it was them versus me. O are 2 guys trying to flank us?, i dont know how to team shoot so im gonna run away. Now i know im not the best, this is my first and only fps but its been over 2 years and people dont know how to play the objective as a team?

      • Supremacy- Guy gets a kill, proceeds to run by crest and not collect it. Control- People think it's clash and don't cap points. Rift- I get spark... one guy follows me.

      • It's always been like that for me. Hell, if you eliminate pure cheating I can't remember the last time an enemy annoyed me. Enemies are supposed to do anything - within the game mechanics - to kill you so good on them if they succeed. Team mates on the other hand are supposed to help you. In this shitty cbmm enviroment, with teams constantly facing randoms, I feel like it's more often than not the opposite. They get over confident when you have the lead and more or less throw games that should have been wins, they are acting totally irrationally and the lack of situational awareness is just mindblowing. And with cbmm you can't really escape these people the way you - to some degree atleast - could in the Bungie Halo games. It's for that very reason I typically stay away from PvP in Destiny. The fact that the netcode also is broken and there's always some form of meta makes it even easier to not play it.

Control: No, we don't need the third point, we really--okay, you captured it anyways, that's fine. Supremacy: Yes, I know collecting crests is the point, but I just got three super kills and I'd like to collect the crest for at least one of them! Rift: Guys, I have the spark, cover me! >Only one guy helps

        • I'll never forget like a year ago playing a skirmish game where me and another teammate had 4+kd's but our third went 0-30 or something and just kept dying. We tried everything, to stay with him, -blam!-ing everything but the enemy team just kept picking this dipshit off and we lost. We -blam!-ing lost by 100 points. I've been through allot in life; I've had dogs die, lost friends and family, I served 4 years in the army including one year in the sandbox, and I have NEVER been so mad as the day I lost that game (I'm pretty sure I had like a skirmish bounty where I had to win a game or something and had already lost like 8 in a row due to either way better teams or shitty teammates). It's just a game but some things just boggle your mind. I will confess I sent some threatening messages to that piece of shit.

        • Not often. I find I can work with just about any type of teammate. If they push up and play aggressive, great, I can get an angle somewhere and we can collapse and team shoot. If they are the sit back type then I can push up and bait the other team into focusing in on me, then maybe get away and open things up for my teammates to get clean up kills. But Rift yea..it's not like players are bad, it's just people get split up and no one is on the same page. You get like 2 guys who are just hardscoping some obvious sniper lane the whole game, 2 others camped back in the spawn with icebreakers, one guy running around the map trying to slay, and then one guy trying to contest the spark. So when the other team works together on any of these individual groups, it's always something like a 2v4, 2v5, or even 1v6.

            • It is very annoying. I know not everyone is going to have a 2+KD and amazing situational awareness, but I feel like it's almost 85% of the time that I have those awful teammates... I honestly think if they stood in spawn and tossed grenade some the whole time, they would be of more use to me than what I get sometimes... It's the same for strikes.... again, I know I'm not going to have ungodly teammates always, but I'd say it's maybe maybe once a week that I have a competent person running strikes with me. I don't see how I can constantly get more kills than my teammates combined. Oh! And how about it being solar burn and the teammates running void and arc only (even subclass) again, before I trigger a weekend warrior, I know not everyone is going to be amazing, but it's way more often than not that I'm going to have poop teammates.

I wad playing Titanfall2 awhile ago, and normally this would make me mad but we were getting destroyed and I was playing with newbies. I had managed to execute and kill a couple enemies in a room, was looking out the window when I was executed. I knew a teammate followed me in, so I was getting ready to be mad he didn't save me. But as I was dead I saw four more enemies come into the room, and he was in a corner. He looked around for a second and turned invisible and crouched, they left after a bit. Just that to me, the way he was scared made it funny xD

                • Teammates consistently get me killed and I can yell at them sometimes but meh, they're alright. They're my adorable blueberries. What pisses me off is the fact I can go an entire match without a goddamn gunfight. Sticky grenades and camping with a machine gun is all people can do. People are so damn afraid of a -blam!-ing primary fight.

Solo player here. The minute I read the title, I correctly guessed you were talking about Rift. I've faced worse than that. I remember a few matches where I was the ONLY guardian attempting to get the Spark. I was constantly getting trounced by 3 enemy players who were also playing the objective. There was nothing I could do as I was getting cross fired from every direction. Where were my teammates? Hanging with Cayde-6 as the spicy ramen bar? Who knows. I feel your pain.

                      • More in pve than anything. I lose a game of crucible because of a dumb teammate I might be upset until the next game loads, but if someone keeps dying in the raid, which is way easier than crucible, I tend to get frustrated.
