As long as the game is good I don't care that it's only 30fps. I've gotten used to it after 3 years it doesn't bother me.
Edit: Just to clarify: I'm not saying I want 30fps. I'd take 60 over 30 any day of the week. However, I'm not going to complain just because Destiny 2 is capped at 30fps. To me, gameplay/content>FPS/Graphics.

Edited by doc_rocker: 5/22/2017 3:23:21 PMAbsolutely not... seeing as everything I've seen has been captured @ less than 4K and @ 30fps by all the guys at the release event... and it looked fantastic (I.e it was all down scaled by their elgato capture devices!) As long as it looks like that for me when it downloads to my regular old PS4 then I'll be a happy camper!!

I do not give a f**k that it's 30 fps. Game looks amazing. Can not wait to play it 😁
-
I love 60 fps, but I'd take a larger area, better graphics, more on screen assets, etc. over it any day.
-
30fps is good to me.
-
I am stoked for destiny regardless
-
I would have liked 60fps, but it being 30fps hasn't affected my excitement for the game in any way. Destiny is the best feeling shooter I have ever played, so the 30fps hasn't negatively impacted it so far.
-
A detail I really don't care about. 30 versus 60 doesn't matter to me. Like you said, so long as the game is good and the "feel" of movement and gunplay remains as it is.

I don't 😁 go Bungie!!!
-
3 RepliesI just dont understand how BF1 on PS4 can run at 60fps but Destiny cant.
-
Don't care...it looks great IMO
-
I don't really care as long as I don't experience massive frame rate drops.
-
I like when games run at 60FPS, I do. But in competitive multiplayer, it always seems like games with higher framerates tend to get more ridiculous. It makes the game more about sweaty, twitchy reaction times and less about who outsmarted their opponent or outplayed them Like I said, 60 frames is great, but destiny's longer TTK kinda makes sweaty and twitchy nonsense useless. That, and I really hope the focus of the devs was mostly on PvE content seeing as that's undoubtedly where most progression, rewards, and overall playtime across the population will come from. _____________________ Hell, I don't even know why esports organizations want games like CoD and Destiny. When Halo showed the first signs of becoming like those, it was dropped like an open jar of airborne HIV.
-
It's a shame. But I'd rather have a stable 30 than a variable up-to 60 with dropped frames everywhere. Also, it's probably more fair at 30, as the Base-version console isn't punished more than the propio. I'd maybe have different development priorities to Bungie, but I'll wait and see how they did it before I decide whether its a bigger deal.

49 RepliesEdited by xI Vorpal Ix: 5/22/2017 4:14:51 AMProvided the Scorpio can physically run Detinty 2 @ 60 what are the Pros and Cons of forcing 30 fps on Scorpio Pros Make Sony very happy by forcing parity Cons Console Parity, Bungie hurt their own brand and reputation by not making D2 the best it can be. Lose out to competition by not making D2 the best it can be and there is mighty competition. Hurt Project Scorpio, Phil Spencer and the MS brand. Phil made Scoprio for gamers and developers. Destiny 2 will be on Windows and Xbox, looking after MS is actually more or just as important than pleasing Sony. Hurt the console gamers that helped build this game.
-
6 RepliesIt's bullshit actually. Consoles more than capable of 60fps. We don't have 4k 60 plus fps for nothing. Plus the first one was set for 60 fps but turned down for old consoles.
-
4 RepliesConsole peasant things

2 RepliesMore frames is always better but I'll take a smooth 30 over a choppy 60 with constant frame drops. So long as it holds a steady 30 frames it's fine. I probably won't enjoy Pvp as much though.
-
Well let's see, apparently the ps4 pro and quite possibly the xbox Scorpio (im an xbox player) can't run the game at 60 fps. I won't let something like frame rate make or break the experience for the game. I played it 30 for almost 3 years didn't have a problem, if I had a choice 60 would be nice but It doesn't matter to me as long as the game looks good, plays well and has enough content. I understand why it important to people but if you let fps completely define your decisions you might miss out on fun games. Not to say that I should as a consumer settle for 30 when other fps' on the market can run 60, but in their case I'll let the game do the talking. In the case of pc there will be uncapped frame rate but no dedicated servers. However, with a game like destiny, it's harder to get dedicated servers especially when they are so expensive and this game isn't strictly pvp. Still doesn't mean we should settle but we should look at the facts. From what was said they are trying a new combination of connection to improve latency issues. We can only see, otherwise I'm fine 30fps.

1 ReplyNormally I share your opinion but if Destiny's PvP is aiming to be played competitively it needs 60 fps cause there's really a difference in how quickly the game allows you to react. And allegedly D2 won't have dedicated servers which gives me the impression that they scaled team sizes down to 4 just to cover up how bad PvP performs. Ultimately that doesn't mean I won't buy it but rather I'll stay out of the Crucible until they add private matches back in. I have been shot through walls, around corners and been shoulder charged by that guy that went past me seconds ago too many times.

15 Replies30fps for pve is okay. But for pvp... bungie has seen in d1 that more and more players seek for competitive play. Instead of ranked and casual playlists with solid mechanics they chose p2p yet again. (Im curious if d2 will have a higher tickrate than just 10; its 2017 bungie..) For casual pvp this is 'ok' though.
-
1 ReplySame for me. I'd rather have amazing graphics and incredible content than more FPS. Destiny 1 had very low FPS, but after a game of Crucible I wouldn't realize that it was low.

“I’ll go out and find some more of that Mulan Szechuan Teriyaki dipping sauce, Morty, because that’s what this is all about Morty – that’s my one-armed man! I’m not driven by avenging my dead family, Morty, that was fake, I’m driven by finding that McNugget sauce. I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty, that’s my series arc, Morty, if it takes nine seasons, I want my McNugget dipping sauce Szechuan sauce, Morty, that’s what’s going to take us all the way to the end, Morty, nine more seasons Morty, nine more seasons until I get that dipping Szechuan sauce, for 97 more years, I want that McNugget sauce, Morty.”

4 RepliesIt won't effect my purchase decision if that's what you're asking. I find it puzzling though that they would be pushing this hard for competitive this time around yet they don't take the 2 staples (60 fps and dedi servers.)

Bungie done f@cked up.

Id rather graphics took the hit over fps.....
