During the reveal today bungie stated all pvp modes were going to be 4vs4, while as a diehard halo fan I love 4v4 I don't want it in every playlist.
6vs6 means I can run with more friends and just goof around. Rumble means I can improve my gunskill in the 1vs1 battle that happen. Doubles is usually intense, close matches. 3vs3 shouldn't be forgotten either.
Why would all modes be 4s? Have them at a majority but include a 6vs6, 3vs3, rumble, doubles and maybe even 5vs5.
Or how about multi team? 3 teams of 4, or 4 teams of 3?
I really don't understand why they'd scrap something that worked for D1.
I thought with no old gen we'd even get a 8vs8, certainly not only smaller teams then D1 had.

5 RepliesWhen they said they revamped pvp, I was thinking they were gonna have like 16v16...

1 ReplyThere needs to be a big team battle variant. Even if its just like 2 maps that can support it. Id love for like a 8v8 mode of just pure chaos. Hopefully the community speaks up enough about this and something is done in the future. Maybe this was done to push its viability in eSports. Smaller teams means more competitive and with the new changes being made to PvP it kind of looks like it's being pushed in that direction.

I am definitely not excited about the 4v4.

Would love to play 4v4 as an extra mode but for all game modes u wut?

It is a "band-aid" fix to their obdurate attitude towards changing from a P2P system.

It is easy to figure out the plan, want 6v6? 8v8? 10v10? Just buy this DLC.....

Edited by Jared: 5/19/2017 11:59:58 AMI can see where you're coming from here. I have good memories of when my team would finish a raid, and then jump into a game of 6v6 and have some laughs. And I do still feel that rumble should not be forgotten. It's a crucible staple, and I never had any bad impressions of the game mode, as it allowed you to fly solo, and not have to worry about teammates making bad decisions, or getting double teamed around every corner. I really question why they made this design choice and why everything will be 4v4. Personally, I think this will make pvp much more stale in the long run, as most game modes will ultimately be similar.

1 ReplySo Bungie is forcing less choice on us, sounds about right. One of the main themes of the presentation was that Destiny is at its best when played with other people. So they reduce the number of people you get to play with in PVP - brilliant. Bungie's messaging is a flipping mess. They STILL have no idea what this game is.

2 RepliesYeah, this was the one thing I didn't like about the reveal. Pretty stupid actually. But, as a community, if we make enough stink, hopefully they'll change it. Heck I'd like to see 16 vs 16, larger modes, not smaller.
-
4 RepliesHonestly is a ridiculous, embarrassing down grade.

1 ReplyI think bungie have forgotten how to make a decent PVP shooter....

5 Replies4v4 ? Pass bungalow is smoking, thinking were about to accept it, heck give us 4v4,6v6, 3v3 and so on, Don't WATER DOWN PVP!!! Your supposed to improve upon foundations

2 RepliesI absolutely agree. This is the only thing I do not understand. 4v4 everything? Part of what made Halo PvP so great were gamemodes like Big Team Battle where 16 people got a bunch of vehicles and blew each other up. Very disappointed in this move. 4v4 makes crucible seem more competitive overall. My only guess is that this was Bungie's way of working around getting better internet connection. Does less people in a match mean better matchmaking? Very strange design choice. Not sure I like it at all.

6 RepliesEdited by LatinLegacy: 5/19/2017 7:35:49 AM6 v 6 is what made the PvP as fun as it was.The original game prided itself in being a fast paced competitive game when it came to the PvP aspect. It was not difficult to get a group of five other friends to run the crucible with. Trials was excellent for those looking for a more competitive PvP fix along with 3 v 3 play modes that existed in the original Destiny. For the most part, the system was fine as it was. Going 4 v 4 is a huge step backwards. Especially for a game that made a big deal about having bigger clans & a new looking for group type system to make new friends with. That is just going to slow the PvP down to the point that most people will just participate in it to complete dailies/quest. Which was already a problem for the original game. Also, keep on posting & up voting the original post so it gets noticed. This needs to change prior to the games release.

4 RepliesIt's cause they too cheap for dedicated servers. They trying to hide PvP lag behind 4v4.
-
1 ReplyThey only done it to make it look like they fixed the lag problem instead of actually fixing the problem and getting dedicated servers. I wont be buying not paying £70 for a reskined game with no dedicated servers
-
4 RepliesYeah what about Iron Banner with 6 friends?
-
As long as rumble remains I won't be bothered as much by it

1 ReplyReally don't understand the change nobody seemed to be asking for for a couple reasons. For one I selfishly am not very good st pvp. Having 6v6 means better odds of s teammate helping me out. It also means a more active game that helps me get a jump on an enemy distracted instead of just blowing me and my terrible skill away. But it also hurts the very thing destiny tries to push which is teamwork and playing with friends. Want to play multiplayer, get 4 players online. Want to go do some missions and strikes? Sorry now you need to pick a player to abandon for three players. Raid time? Well you can't just switch to the raid with another group (or the group you just played in pvp 3v3. Now your group is 2 players short, or joining another group two players over. So 3 players required, 4 players required and 6 required for different game modes. It feels like they are trying to discourage having friends to make a fire team with.
-
Its solely bcuz they don't want to do dedicated servers. Peer2peer is easier with 4v4 *mindblown*
-
4v4 isn't a improvement When you make one new game mode with this model (4v4), you did a new thing for comunity When ALL game modes are 4v4 you don't make a improvement, you make a restriction / downgrade Horrible Decision.
-
On the other hand, if everything is 4v4, does this mean we'll get some CTF or Demo?
