I made a female character once on Pokémon, and I made so many female characters on pirate101.
-
If it's a game where I'll make more then one character, like diablo and eso, then I'll switch off between make and female typically
-
Depends on character models. Basically who looks better.
-
1 ReplyNine times out of ten I pick female though sometimes I will play as a male just to see if anything different happens.
-
I usually just flip a coin or something to determine stuff like that in character creation. More often I tend to go male since I'm a guy.

Attempting to see things in a different perspective
-
Im male i do both depending on the game like when i play ark i choose female because they are small and hard to see
-
Mostly male. Some games I'll have one of each with different play styles. Did that in the Mass Effect trilogy. Ran through as a "good" male shep and a no nonsense female shep.
-
The only times I, a male, play as a female character (if given a choice) is when the game's armor looks feminine or the male characters look ugly. (Ex: Final Fantasy XIV)
-
Same as mine.

5 RepliesI usually play as a male for two reasons, first off i am male so it helps with connecting to a character, second male character models tend to fit things like armour better. Looking at games like halo, destiny (titans specifically), etc, the male character models are bulkier and so they fill out their armour much better, of course this is not the case for every game, games that focus more on an agile/stealth character could be either since they arent going to be wearing bulky equipment, but i prefer playing roles like tanks when i have the choice on which case female models dont tend to work as well (and i am not really into super muscular women, just my personal taste).

1 ReplyFemale, sometimes it's because of voice actors like in mass effect but most of the time it's because I'm a straight dude who doesn't like seeing sweaty men go at it or whatever the game is about.

1 ReplyEdited by Kamots: 5/16/2017 7:18:02 PMI go male in MMOs, usually, but female in single-player RPGs. The latter is a habit from KotOR.
-
Main characters are male.....I'm a guy. Second characters are usually female, just for variety's sake.

1 ReplyEdited by arf1049: 5/16/2017 10:21:11 PMMy primary/stealth character is a male My secondary/heavy hitter is usually a female Been doing that since Skyrim.
-
5 RepliesOnly semi related: Am I the only one who hates slutty armour in games? Like I don't find it cool or hot to see half naked chicks in RPGs. Chicks in plate bikinis ain't cool to me.
-
1 ReplyFemale (I'm a girl)
-
I'd say 90% of the time male, when occasionally I mix it up,I just choose whatever feels right for the game
-
Both. I make 2 games, I've with a male character and one with a female character
-
16 RepliesI only choose guy characters and I'm a guy also. I cant buy a girl is saving the world or fending off monsters. Most women cant even do a pull-up, much less kill demons is a post apocalyptic world.

Jar of mayonnaise

Sooo 25% of the male forum users are neckbeards?
-
Usually it depends on the game, but i generally stick to a male since im a guy. But if the male features just dont like right thats when i make a female character.
-
1 ReplyFemale because sometimes pornhub is down
-
First Male, then female and after those the gender the game felt better with.
