I love my hunter. Not because of his OPness
not really;(
, more because I like how cool he looks. The whole reason I chose to play hunter, all the way back when the game first came out, I thought the cloaks, the armor and the knife looked cool. It gave off a bit of a cowboy/bounty hunter vibe. And you know what I learned after 3 years, and over 30 days played? That my hunter still is cool.
Now fellow hunter, or whatever other classes. Why did you choose your class? Are you happy with your decision?
Edit: I love the feedback we're getting here! Reading all of your replies as to why you chose your character brings a nostalgic read to my eye. And it makes remember why I fell in love with this game in the first place.

Hunters are puny and weak

3 RepliesHave you seen my cape? *shines his plan c with a titan mark*
-
I usually take a rogue/stealthy approach, and I had overhyped expectations of Destiny's RPG elements.
-
1 ReplyI started maining a Hunter because something inside of me just kept saying "Nerf warlocks and titans". It made me feel right at home
-
I thought trowing knives seemed cool. The ability to summon a 1 hit golden gun was awesome to me. The capes looked really cool to me.
-
I chose a hunter first because of the look and the bumf, I've always favoured sneaky hang back and snipe game play and she seemed to fit the bill. My hunter is my main pve character, but honestly I think pvp is easier with a titan.
-
Hunters look real cool, but I'm not a big fan of their play style.
-
The cloak and the arc blade
-
My hunter looks the best hands down no argument that's why
-
Speed and mobility fit my playstyle. Get into engagements, quickly end them, and get out. Hunter class gives me that feel & I lub it

I like capes

7 RepliesI have a bit of a story when it comes to my main. I am a Titan Main, but I didn't start out that way. In fact I started off as a Hunter. Played as one for quite a while, but I slowly realized that Hunters didn't really fit me or my playstyle. So I tried out warlocks and I loved them. Played it for a good 4 months but than I got burnt out on the game. Because I could never find a team for King's Fall. So I dropped the game. But around the beginning of summer of this year. Me and one of my two oldest friends started talking again (We hadn't talked in like a year). He mentioned to me that he still plays destiny, and at the time I had also started becoming interested in the game again. Due too the upcoming release of the new Expansion. So I reinstall the Game and to my surprise I didn't have any characters. My friend also recently switched over to PS4 and was in the process of getting his characters back up. So in my reintroduction to destiny. Just like before I chose a Hunter, and he chose Warlock. It took us about 2 days to get them through the story and level them to 40. Fast forward to about 3 weeks into summer and I have My new Hunter and Warlock and I finally decided to try out a Titan. Before I believed that I would never have an Interest in playing a Titan. That was until I played as one. The moment I threw my first Flashbang I realized that I was Destined to be a Titan. I fell in love with the toolkit a Titan has access too. The concept of Titans being these Gentle Giant type is exactly what I am in real life. By the time I was 13 I was 5ft 11in tall, and could lift upwards of 200 pounds. I was feared by kids, even though I would never hurt anyone. Now I'm 17 stand 6ft 3in tall, and still getting taller, and can lift upwards of 450 pounds rather easily. But now nobody fears me. Because now everyone I know understands that I would never hurt anyone I consider a friend. I will also be the first to protect them as well. Anyways to answer your question. The reason I main a Titan isn't because I think they look cool or that they're the best class ever. My reason is much more personal. I main a Titan because to me, they are an Embodiment of everything that I am.

4 RepliesI will never understand why people don't play all 3. It's never made sense to me.
-
I like how fluid it feels. The look doesn't hurt either. I mained two warlocks the majority of year one, deleted one for my hunter.
-
Personally the hops are my favorite, and also the backstab perk on blade dancer
-
Hunter was my last character, but made him because the melee uses a knife and they're quick...that's about it. Fell in love with it though, all I really play now lol
-
I figured it was more of a "rogue" close combat but can do long range type stuff too. The perks really play well with handcannon/sniper set ups. That, and I liked the cloaks.
-
7 RepliesHunters are players that can't aim a gun and have to use grenades and smokes then run away
-
I started with a hunter because of the description of the gunslinger subclass
-
8 Repliesi chose a hunter because im not a bitchass who needs a op class like warlock and titan
-
Majority chose hunter because if the cloaks. I chose hunter because knives and golden gun.
-
2 RepliesBcuz female hunters have a nice butt :]
-
When I first got destiny (September 9th 2013?) whatever it was launch. I picked Hunter cuz of looks n play style. Literally became blind to the other classes. It wasn't until house of wolves until I created a second charecter lol (warlock). N then my Titan soon after. I didn't realize I had 3 chances of every loot drop weekly with 3 characters. Now I main a warlock.

Because we have more class then titans or warlocks. And I get to wield a "flaming hand cannon of death" (I called it that in y1)

3 Repliesi am not gonna lie the hunter is cool, he's armor is cool, and the subclasses he originally comes with are cool, BUT the NIGHTSTALKER SUBCLASS you get in THE TAKEN KING DLC SUCKS!!! the bow could be a rapid shooter which would make it so much better, the melee could be better then some stupid ass smoke grenades, OH and the grenades suck donkey balls. I mean what was BUNGIE smoking when they made this subclass. IT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE DON'T USE IT. the sad part is the other subclasses they did were amazing it's just NIGHTSTALKER THAT SUCKS
