To New Monarchy or Not to New Monarchy.....
That is the question! I just wrapped up getting my second exotic cloak (FWC) after getting my Dead Orbit cloak right away. Last one to get is New Monarchy, but I am at level 0 right now and dread the grind to 25....
Is it worth it? Do you feel any more accomplished by having all 3? Let me know your thoughts!

You can easily run through 10+ levels in a week, if you try hard enough. Do all the bounties everyday, all the Dailies, all of that "little" stuff. Tons of Motes to trade for rep, tons of Strange Coins to trade for Heavy for more rep. End game activities won't help, if Faction rep is what you're after.

5 RepliesI have all 3 on my 3 guardians at 25+ My advice: NM for shotgun, machinegun, side arm. FWC, for fusion rifle, rocket and handcannon DO, for scout. Everything else from gunsmith, vanguards and crucibles packages.

I would just wait till ROI comes out. The exotic quest won't disappear anytime soon. But, I would go ahead and make the switch and grind casually.

Have 2 marks and cloaks working on last ones and my poor warlock is working on his second. I was like rank 120 new monarchy when I decided to actually go for all the marks.

There was a complaint post yesterday- I think about cheaters. A funny detail put into the story was that these two players were decked out in New Monarchy gear. I don't know if it was supposed to have some relevance, like NM is the douchiest faction?

I've been trying to get one of every faction's spectar gear on my characters. It's kinda fun to fashion.

I'm doing the same thing except on my warlock. One week I've gotten to rank 19. Donations many many donations lol

If you don't mind the 10 Strikes you have to do.....I did a couple and am sitting on the rest.....just hate doing Strikes with randoms.

I'm a completionist as well. I'm currently going for the fwc mark, the NM bond, and the Fwc cloak. The only exotic class item I have is the DO mark, but I would like all of them. It's quite a grind, but I'm not obsessed with getting them anytime soon.

Edit: I hated doing the Dead Orbit one though, just don't like them. New Monarchy I had completed long before TTK was released, so really I only had to grind out two factions. But with boosters, the right teams and just doing it. You'll get them.

I am in the exact spot with my warlock. I decided to do it for the shaders.
