I'm tired of people think that this game is the next coming of Christ or that it's the loot and shoot we've all wanted but never got. Let me lay it all out for you.
The Division is a third person only RPG with cover shooting mechanics. It is an RPG above every thing else. It's gun play takes a back seat to the RPG mechanics. Don't expect realistic Time to kill unless you're max level fighting level 1 mobs.
It is most likely NOT going to be a game for someone who primarily/only enjoys First Person shooters. It is not a game for fans of realism. It's not for people who don't like MMO mechanics. If you hated DayZ stay far way from the Dark Zone.
However if you enjoyed the Gameplay of mass effect, if you enjoyed the Gameplay of Ghost Recon:Future solider. You will likely enjoy the game play of the Division.
I for one enjoy this type of game. So I look forward to the division, but please don't think it's something it's not and buy it only to be disappointed. If you played the beta expect it to be more of that just with a little more content.
Finally be smart, rent it first don't buy, only get the season pass if you absolutely love the game.
That is all.
Edit: Rumors are spreading of an open Beta starting February 17th

1 ReplyYou are the first person who understands that this an RPG above all else, thank you
-
1 ReplyI think the game will have a decent combination of third person shooting and RPG elements, but that puts it in an awkward middle ground where the shooter players want more focus on the gunplay and the RPG fans want more focus on the story, characters and actual role playing elements. I'm kinda hoping it caters more to the RPG crowd because that's what'll keep the game alive and running

3 RepliesIt does not look like my cup tea. The whole dark zone business of rouges stealing my loot puts me off before I even give the game a chance.

2 RepliesWell I do understand some of the criticisms aimed at the time to kill. The game is set in a very realistic environment with realistic weapons, yet common street thugs take sometimes upwards of an entire magazine to kill. That being said, as an rpg fan, I like the ttk. Destiny and Borderlands players will feel right at home. Fans of other Tom Clancy games, though... it may take some getting used to.

5 RepliesDo you think a primarily solo player will like it?
-
Everyone will sh!t all over the game while the few people that enjoy it will play the game quietly and happily.

2 RepliesEdited by ABeardedViking: 2/3/2016 1:46:59 AMDoes seem like the shoot and loot we never got. I am looking forward to it and hope to be able to sink the same amount of time I put into Destiny edit: open beta rumored to be on 16th first on Xbox then 17th for PS4 and PC
