No one earns shit in Destiny. Its rng, I can run crota hard 1-100 times and still not get everything while someone eles can do it 1-5 times get everything and be done with it. My favorite example is I was with 2 ppl doing NF and the person that literally just qualified to play the NF (we were carrying him as he was new and a noob). He gets a Ghorn and the other guy with us has been playing since [b]Day 1[/b] and still does not have 1.

I admit it, nearly all my Exotics came from Xur. Ice Breaker, Hard Light, SUROS, Dragon's Breath, all my bounty weapons, Sunbreakers and the Peregrine Greaves are the only ones I got through RNG. And I'm happy that I have a way to get these items without having to be at the mercy of my RNG loot table. I just don't have the luck to gain and dismantle 6 extra duplicate Exotics every week.

Did you buy that car or did you win it in a lottery? Logic says if you bought something from Xur you 'earned' it. Everything else was just shit luck. Of course there are the times where the strange coin you got came from an engram lol

Gotten many of my exotic weapons from xur after spending the time and using the skill necessary to beat heroics and nightfalls to earn enough strange coins to EARN the right to purchase. Got my Gjallarhorn by jumping into a Crota checkpoint at the very last second just in time enough to get a gjally drop. Now tell how exactly I earned that. Having enough coins to buy from xur is much more of an earn than drops

No such thing as "earned" anything, unless you're talking raid gear (from the 2 'real' raids) ... but even that's debatable because well, RNG is random.

I once Xurned a gallyhorn but dismantled it because I felt like I hadn't earned it. 600 hours later I'm still waiting to earn another one

3 RepliesDoes it matter whether you've "earned it" through an RNG system or buy it with an in game currency you ACTUALLY earn? DeeJ said it himself, I'm sorry if I butcher what he said, but to paraphrase what he said, he said: "You earn the Strange Coins used to buy weapons an gear so you really do earn those things."
