So what's the deal with "must have gally" on almost every lfg and lfm post out there. Do people not know that Galley is the "noob tube" of destiny. I mean I've beaten everything in destiny without once using my Gally or anyone else on my team using one. It is getting ridiculous now I see people using Gally during void and arc burns in Poe " cause it does more damage." Come on people don't really believe that do they? Please stop posting must have Gally on everything, it's not needed that badly unless your cheesing a night fall. Thanks for reading just want to put that out there. Comment and let me know what you think
*** Edit ***
So a lot of people assume this post is about the ghorn it's self. SPOILER: IT'S NOT. It is about some players who base players skill off of having or not having a ghorn. I just think it is adolescent to think that way.

You don't need a Gally for nothing. Now it is the most powerful rocket launcher. It's eats bosses up for solar burn nightfalls. But a solar legendary rocket launcher or Lmg will do just fine also.

Edited by Waylander969: 6/24/2015 9:58:41 PMI did everything in this game without a ghorn. From VoG hard to Crota to Poe skolas. Altough Ghorn is strong it also takes a lot of fun out of the gams. And my 365 truth, VoC and Black Hammer do the job to so.

Yes... Yes it is
nah I'm just kidding, people find it less challenging with a gjallarhorn, I won't lie, my fireteam is full of gallys, what do we do, everything, both raids, PoE, I suck at trials so not that, but no its not necessarily needed, it just helps alot
-
No. People just want the quickest, easiest way to beat content.
-
1 ReplyIt's like having a chainsaw instead of an axe. You don't need it but it sure makes everything easier.
-
Gjallarhorn does the damage of 2 rockets Burns give 3x damage (I.e. Damage of 3 rockets with correct burn) "Gally does more!!!"
-
1 ReplyI've been playing since Day 1, and only recently-ish got mine. It's still a novelty to me so do tend to overuse it maybe just a tad.. :)
-
It's not really required for anything, but having a legion of g-horns makes a lot of the endgame activities quicker
-
its not needed but it sure does help a lot
-
1 ReplyI had already beaten everything up to TDB by time I got Galley. Going back to most bosses or nightfalls, it's literally no challenge whatsoever. This weeks nightfall with solar burn took maybe 45 seconds. MAYBE

2 RepliesGjallarhorn is the only weapon worth calling Exotic in pve. Observe PVE. I use my all the time because its just great and heavy ammo is cheep.
-
2 RepliesI use gally in the arc burn hive room in PoE 34 this week, best weapon for taking down wizards even with the arc burn
-
1 ReplyIt's not needed, I just got one last week and I still use Thunderlord more when it comes to exotic heavies.
-
When someone is shit, Gally makes them slightly better. LFGers figure if they have Gally they won't be complete shit.
-
It just makes things a lot easier.
-
2 RepliesIt's not required, but I'd rather get things done quicker than have every boss fight take forever. This games a grind.
-
Gally is love, Gally is life.
-
They're noobs. :)
-
no just fun to use.
-
Not needed. Just speeds up the process.
-
Never needed. Only helpful. Basically gives you 14 rockets, and melts any foe in game. I didn't have one until after 600 hours and managed to navigate the game just fine.

4 RepliesEdited by NegativeCycle: 6/24/2015 8:16:55 PMIs it needed? No. Is it helpful? Yes. I will take a scrub with a Gjallarhorn over an "experienced" player in my raids or level 35 PoE any day or any actuvity that has NO burn. Why? It's simple really, nothing deals as much damage to a target as it does. It doesn't take any real "skill" to point and listen for beep that it's locked then pull the trigger. This more than eliminates the gulf between the "skilled" and the "scrub". I don't care how good you are with a sniper rifle, you're never going to be able to deal out as much damage as fast as anyone with a Gjallarhorn. End of story. For a nightfall without solar burn? I'll take the experienced guy since Gjallarhorn isn't such a deal breaker.

Also if I say anything about gally on lfg I usually say that gally would be nice, but not necessary. Because without burns, gally is by far the best rocket.
-
I say stay away from those threads. Yes the ghorn is the best launcher in the game, and yes it will make strikes and raid bosses much easier. But those guys are probably bad players if they refuse to use anything other than the ballerhorn.
