Gally? Is it really needed for everything
So what's the deal with "must have gally" on almost every lfg and lfm post out there. Do people not know that Galley is the "noob tube" of destiny. I mean I've beaten everything in destiny without once using my Gally or anyone else on my team using one. It is getting ridiculous now I see people using Gally during void and arc burns in Poe " cause it does more damage." Come on people don't really believe that do they? Please stop posting must have Gally on everything, it's not needed that badly unless your cheesing a night fall. Thanks for reading just want to put that out there. Comment and let me know what you think

So a lot of people assume this post is about the ghorn it's self. SPOILER: IT'S NOT. It is about some players who base players skill off of having or not having a ghorn. I just think it is adolescent to think that way.

Mt friends call me a scrub for not having one but they just joke, they've done everything without it except Skolas, which I have, but at least they know that a Gally isn't a sign of skill. I wish I still had one so I could have every exotic heavy tho :/

2 RepliesSimple solution: get rid of of everyone's Gjalihorn and make it an exotic bounty. (This would piss everyone off, but it would fix the problem).

2 RepliesI was running vault at the gatekeeper part and some guy didn't have heavy ammo synths and no rockets in the chamber and it was sad to hear him say "I don't have any gjallahorn shots guys I don't think I can do this"

I use my Gjallarhorn when I don't want to take 72 hours to do a mission I've completed 88 million times before. Bungie -blam!-ed up on this one.

Some people are fgts and can't beat end game content without Gjallarhorn. Thats why they post trash like that.

No, not needed for anything or everything. Does it make stuff easier? Sure. Do I use the hell out of it? Yes, since I didn't get my first (or second) until right before HoW dropped.

1 ReplySorry but gally doesn't make things particularly easier it just speeds up easy things wich can take some time without gally. Gally isn't needed for anything. People argue Crotas shield, nope a MG with big mag can do it just the same

It's not a skill thing. It's a get the boss killed for the 1000th time as fast as possible thing.

You dont need the Gally for anything , its makes things easier but thats it , i haven 1300 hrs , i have done everything , havent need it ... im sure my journey wouldnhave been easier with it but you dont NEED IT

I have 3, had at least one since vanilla, definitely not needed and I'd avoid playing with those that demand it. That being said, the game should be so fun that teams don't want the fastest/easiest ways to finish... (also applies to black hammer and icebreaker) If it really was fun and rewarding to play "Bungie's way" there wouldn't be such a focus on just getting it over with to see what kind of bad joke RNG has in store. Yeah, another NLB!!!!!! Also, the longer a boss fight goes on, the more likely you are to hit a wipe inducing glitch.

It's not needed, but it does help a lot. I would never turn someone down just because they don't have one. Doing the activity based on their skill is another thing though.

Edited by Swiftlock: 6/26/2015 8:54:21 PMI'd rather have a lesser skilled player help me quickly blow through Skolas with a G-Horn than a skilled player slowly kill Skolas by doing the whole fight the way it was intended to. Doing Skolas the right way is fun once or twice, but getting screwed over with underwhelming prizes repeatedly just makes me want to get it over with. It's not fun or rewarding. You might not even walk away with an elemental primary weapon. This applies to most of Destiny. The poor loot system means you have to play the same instance of PvE an absurd amount of times just for a remote chance of finding what you're looking for. Gjallarhorn makes the grind smoother, quicker, and more tolerable in most cases.

2 RepliesIce Breaker also wrecks pretty hard with solar burn. At 365 it does like 10,000 something damage on a headshot. I'm not saying Ice Breaker is better, I'm saying its also good.

Concordo plenamente. A Gjallarhorn é um facilitador, mas a graça do jogo é fazer as atividades sem ela. O desafio fica mais emocionante quando vc usa uma arma correta para cada dano. Parem de exigir gjallarhorn no esquadrão, preconceito desnecessário.

1 ReplyIt is good for everything. Everything! I use it to brush my teeth, light my grill, exterminate pests, dove hunting because it also defeathers and cooks them simultaneously. It gets slow drivers out of my way during rush hour. Pesky Bible thumpers at my door? Not any more. Do I want to buy some girl scout cookies? I don't think so little girl. Kids stay off my lawn now too. I can heat my pool in seconds during the winter months. They should have named this the Multi-tool.

2 RepliesBungie did a good thing by putting out rocket launchers in HoW that are seeking. There are now rockets that can at least compete with the Gally that are readily accessible for everyone
