2 RepliesI dont get why this communuty exists 99% of butthurt crybabies. i think destiny is my favourite game ever . I have like 1300 hours of playtime which is i think a pretty good deal of 100 euros so far . I bought games for 70 dollars and didnt even play them for like 30 hours. If you dont like the game than why are you on this forums and why do most oft you have like 500 to 1000 hours of playtime if destiny is this bad. And hating on this smith guy is stupid. He just did his job holy shit get over it.

Edited by freshlydunbread: 6/25/2015 1:04:15 AMA good start, but I'm going to say that for a good chunk of us: the damage to our relationship with Bungie is near irreparable.

32 Repliesjust stay tuned for thursday before you get all up in arms about it, clearly they're planning on making it right

13 Replies"You'll likely see it sold on ebay for much more than what we're asking. But that's not the point, right?" Right, I'm pretty sure that's not the point. You basically defended your company's value proposition of the entire expansion pricing schema by saying the equivalent of "We're at least a notch above the most speculative and economically exploitative business model around, and we're just slightly better the the internet version of guys hawking scalped tickets on the roadside after clearing out all the supply 30 seconds after the box office opened." "The real conversation here is..." No I'm pretty sure we were interested in the conversation that Luke Smith was having, and trying to change the subject to free stuff is both beneath your position and isn't terribly fulfilling in its current form, since it's a promise about a promise to maybe do something unrelated to the problem people have with your company right now. Let me suggest a different PR angle for you: admit a problem, own the mistake, don't belittle your consumer base, promise to do better in the future, and then actually do better in the future. "We realize that the manner in which the pricing scheme for the collector's edition of TTK is upsetting for many of our long time playerbase. We neglected to realize that it was both impractical and unfair to require those who had already invested both time and money into our game, company, and community to repurchase content that they had already in order to obtain exclusive in game items. Mr. Smith's comments were not intended to offend those members of our community, and he'll be writing a larger response to put his comments into greater context along with an apology as part of this week's update. We know that we'll be more mindful of these issues in setting pricing structures in future expansions. Talk to you again Thursday guardians, where we will have additional news from the TTK development team to talk about in the update."

Edited by Maketsufuma: 6/24/2015 4:28:49 AMNintendo should buy destiny and really sell a game, they know what they are doing and always look to the fans request and feedback rather than say "ehh, we have their money."

4 RepliesEdited by dakota 712: 6/24/2015 12:47:14 AMEuro gamer spoke on the subject and said smith was actually very polite and it's was a joke most the time and the community doesn't need to treat it as such it was his writing that messed it up Here are the links https://mobile.twitter.com/tomphillipsEG/status/613376448645214209 https://mobile.twitter.com/tomphillipsEG/status/613376025775460352

It's not planned so we could get almost nothing or they could do sonthing foolish and give us an exclusive exotic weapon

6 RepliesEdited by SERAPH-X7: 6/23/2015 8:18:35 PMJune 22, 2015 - Somewhere inside Bungies Headquarters, Washigton State USA. We open up to chaos and war drums in what looks like a busy Monday at a stock market exchange...except we are in the offices of Bungie, the creators of the fabled Destiny game. Moments earlier a gaming website let loose a scathing interview between one of Bungies lead developers and an avid fan/journalist which has spread like wildfire in the Bungie fan forums. Having just had his lunch PR spokesperson/ Community Manager David Dague aka "Deej" walks into something out of a disaster film. Deej stares in bewilderment as the huge monitors overhead displaying the forums are set ablaze with angry people. Phones ring everywhere, meetings take place between angry office workers, people are yelling, suddenly a scream off in the distance "oh the horror!"...but Deej isn't worried, he combs his fingers through his hair and thoughts begin to swirl inside his head... He makes his way to his office avoiding the chaos, finally arriving at his posh office. Memorabilia and mementos of days long past are neatly arranged throughout. He looks around, eyes landing directly on a thick black binder, just the thing he was looking for. He gets up, grabs it and stares at its title..."PR for Dummies" a quick grin passes across his stern face, he's read about this, this is his moment, it's happening. He sits in front of his work station and clicks through a few things on screen. He turns to his bible, fingers a blur looking for something and they find their mark as if by magic..."How to Quell a Blood Thirsty Mob". His eyes dart back and forth, the commotion is getting louder outside his office, he must work fast if he wants to put a cork on the situation. His eyes widen, he's found what he's looking for, immediately he becomes a maestro conducting a symphony, his fingers creating art. After a few minutes a sly crooked smile crosses his face, it's ready, he's done it! After a while he clicks a couple more things on screen, pauses and quickly scans his masterpiece for any errors. None, it's perfect and he sends his work of art free into the wilds...the dreaded Bungie forums. Now it's just a matter of waiting, content with himself, Deej powers off his computer and clasps his hands behind his head. He smiles, a wide grin, suddenly a knock on his door disturbs this happy moment. Luke Smith lead raid designer is standing there, looking pale, sickly. I don't know what to do man, I panicked, have you read it yet? Oh man, they're gonna skin me alive for this! he says. After a long hard pause Deej gets up, walks up to LS and grasps his shoulder as a father does a son in peril. Don't worry, I think I averted the problem, I think I might have outdone myself this time if I might say so. A confused look rolls over LS's face, but how he asks, it was a mad house in there last I checked. They want my head, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a noose ready for me, what did you do? Suddenly cheers erupt nearby, sounds of people hollering fill the hallways, two co-workers happily embrace and kiss...quietly LS asks one last time, Dauge what did you do? Deej pauses for a moment, looks around and let's in all the audible noises fill his mind, he'll relish this moment for a long time that's for sure. He looks back at LS and says to him, I told the Day Oner's that we would give them something better, something meaningful. His eyes waver for a split second, too quick for a lesser man to see...I made them a promise and bought us time until Thursday's weekly update. LS stumbles to his knees, thank god he says shakily, he forms the sign of the cross quickly before getting back on his feet. The ball is in your court now says Deej, what you do with it is up to you and the guys in marketing. LS quickly gives Deej a sappy hug while Deej just rolls his eyes and tells him to get going, that they don't have a lot of time. LS quickly scampers off to who knows what dark corners of Bungies impregnable fortress. Amidst all the laughter and celebration Deej stands alone, victorious...triumphant. Nobody does it better than he, for he is David Dague aka Deej and he has the worst job in America if not the world itself. He's been trained in the trenches, he's been to hell and back, this is his dominion! Happy with himself he skips down the hallway, rounds a corner and high fives a passing Bungienite. Under his breath he mutters, o how I love Mondays... Hope you guys enjoyed this, I honestly don't know why I wrote it...I should go to sleep :/

1 ReplyGo Deej! Wear Luke's ass like a fedora!

2 RepliesEnough already...damn talking about beating a dead horse. Bungie is getting all this hate but I can almost guarantee that Activision is behind this. They have found a way to nickel and dime it's customers for years now. So the fact that Destiny is being done the same way really shouldn't surprise anyone who has been around to see what they did to the COD franchise. I really wish Bungie would have found some other company to put up the cash instead of Activision.

Bad bad bad

6 RepliesIt's our right? Of course it's our right... We never should have been asked to buy content we already own to acquire silly things like emotes and class items... You mention that it's sold out as if to justify that what you guys are trying to pull here is right. It's not... At least 50% of your collector's edition customers already own 3/4 of the collector's edition. Most of them probably intend on selling the game and 1st 2 dlcs. Is this some kind of twisted way to increase destiny sales by enticing people to rebuy content they've already paid for to pad your numbers? Shame... At the end of the day you simply could have offered a simple collectors edition TTK bundle and avoided all this unnecessary controversy over what amounts to basically nothing of importance. Instead you send Luke Smith to Eurogamer and he proceeds to trivialize and mock our concerns with his arrogant and pompous attitude. You have destroyed any good faith you had with this community and we realize now more than ever that our concerns are obviously of no concern to you. You're already sold out which is all that matters right?
-
Announces that the emotes will be available for sale to day 1 players. All collectors edition pre-orders are cancelled. It's lose lose from here for Bungie. Those who aren't currently playing this game are going to find it very difficult to start playing regardless of the mechanics put in place at TTK release.

1 Replyplease deej, you're our only hope

10 RepliesI think Deej really does care about our community, but has both his hands tied. On one, he can't afford to make Bungie look bad. On another, he can't piss off the fans.
