The Lighthouse is bullshit and needs to be changed
No content in this game should be available only to those in the top 10% of crucible players. You wanna give them a shader, emblem, or class item? Fine. But a whole area exclusive to them? With a chest containing some of the best gear in the game? Completely unacceptable. They don't deserve it. They don't need it.
All this "lighthouse" area does is promote elitism and ultimately makes this game far less appealing.
And before you say "git gud scrub" you should know that not everyone is capable of getting better. Everyone has limits, and most peoples' limits are much lower than those who are good enough to get into the Lighthouse. It's existence is a slap in the face to 90% of the playerbase.
[b]Every Guardian in Destiny has the right to access the Lighthouse and obtain the gear from it's chest.[/b] But that's not possible, and until the requirements for accessing it are changed, it never will be.
[b]Edit:[/b] Just for clarity, I'm not saying this should be given out freely. That's an assumption you've made on your own. I do think it should be earned, but the requirements for earning it should be such that it can be enjoyed by most of the player-base. Not just the best crucible players and those they carry with them.

What's sad is that I am an average (or below) pvp player, and I don't really care about that fact. I enjoy being immersed in story (hard to find with Destiny at times). With that being said, I did Trials last weekend on my Warlock just to get a helmet I [b]KNEW[/b] I would receive after 5 wins. As soon as I got the 5th win, I went to the Tower and turned the game off. I worked for my reward, and the only thing that was RNG was the light level. At least it was only a SINGLE rng algorithm working against me instead of two with Oryx. I went flawless in Year 1, and I was proud of it. This time around its much harder because of the way the matches are set up (which is fine), so I honestly don't see myself getting to the Lighthouse. Kind of a bummer, but it is what it is, I suppose. I sincerely believe PvE players are kind of getting shafted this time around, and anyone who denies it is suffering from the video game version of Stockholm Syndrome. It's blatantly obvious.

2 RepliesIm the type of Guardian who will solo the left side of Confluxes during in the Vault, solo the Crota's Raid and take any position while taking down Oryx... But these Guardians with a flawless emblem will always be welcome in my fireteam, they are the real MVPs. The day for me to get one of those hasnt come, hopefully someday I git gud.

I have to play the meta and that's all it really is getting lucky against people who suck at the meta or play a camp style. with snipers I get killed out of nowhere randomly and instantly sometimes through walls it just feels cheep when I die without a chance to fight back. I'll never go to the lighthouse the way it is and honestly I'd rather I'd be open to everyone. wanting to keep people out just because your better then them is not how video games work. 10 feeling good leaves 90 upset. I paid 140 bucks like everyone else I want to access and have everything and if you want to keep things from me for no reason other then "because" you don't want me to have it your an ass.
