Are stupid saying it's not OP in the crucible. It is. I mean it can be beat, yes, anything can, but a team of 6 thorns won't lose very often. By all means use the gun, you got it. It's a great gun, but don't be that guy who's like "oh yeah I got a 2+ k.d I'm awesome, I beat scrubs all day, you all whine and suck, go use thorn, be like.
"By all means use the gun,you got it, it's a great gun" I believe I said that.... Nahhh I must have said NERF that BISH lmao

I have 3 thorns. Dont use them very much and dont do crucible very much either however i don't have much complaints about thorn cause I've died to everything i don't feel like it's op
-
I have Thorn and I used it in Crucible WITHOUT any upgrades. Very easy to use and kill people with, and when I got the stability perk and MotD... it was easy mode.
-
I've had vex since before the nerfs. I used it once in crucible and it made me feel bad. Like, "really man? I hope you're proud of yourself." Never brought it back out. Winning is nice, but I've got a little too much self respect to go that low.

5 RepliesIt's broken, sure. But I'm still going to use it while it's broken. I enjoy hand cannons, and I'm pretty good at PvP so why not take it one step further and use it while it's still fun to use? Seriously though, people like you instigate the vicious cycle of gutting every good weapon. Soon there won't be any useful exotics, or the cycle will start over again with the Suros. How about we just have Suros back, and keep hand cannons where they are along with pulse rifles. Instead of having no broken guns, all the guns can be broken(The exotics, like Red Death, TLW, Thorn, etc. are what I'm talking about here), so no one can complain. Thorn will be able to compete with every other gun, every other gun can compete with Thorn and each other.

1 Replypeople who usually have "fun" playing the game don't come on the forums and write an essay about how much they think a gun is overpowered, but I agree thorns pretty good but not any more OP then the last word or hawk moon all the hand cannons will wreck

Let's consider some points shall we •The Thorn bounty is the hardest exotic bounty in the game. It requires the most time and skill out of the exotic bounties. Therefore, it is only for that the best weapon be rewarded for the hardest task. •Red Death can kill a guardian at full health with two pulls of the trigger, just like Thorn. There's a counter. •The Last Word does 77 damage I think per headshot and there's a glitch where it can possible do around 111. That means the last word can two shot you and with the rate of fire being twice as fast as Thorn's, it's an easy counter. •Two precision shots can kill someone when using Thorn. Let me ask you, doesn't a steady hand need to be rewarded when playing the crucible? If you allow a Thorn user to land two headshots on you, then you've been out played. You could have killed him first, dodged the bullets, or simply avoided the encounter. To blame your death on the gun is irresponsible, and frankly childish. Blaming your lack of skill on the opponents weapon. And yes you can say "Look at my KD! I have skill!" But if you lack the competence to interject one of those three methods, you have no skill. •If you want to get technical, it takes three headshots to kill someone with Thorn. Considering the burn will kill you with two headshots, allow about 3 seconds for the opponent to get off a couple of rounds at you. Considering the Thorn user didn't ambush you, you should be able to kill him before the burn kills you. Again, considering you have skill. •Thorn was meant to be a long to mid range weapon, rivaling that of some scout rifles. To nerf the range of Thorn would render the weapon useless, because that's where it was intended to excel. •Nerfing Thorn's signature perk would reduce the weapon down to a standard handcannon. Making it not worth the exotic slot. •Thorn isn't an RNG drop. You are welcomed to pick one up yourself since it's so "overpowered" in your eyes. If I were you, I'd pick one up instead of whining about it like a Christmas noob. •No land beyond, universal remote, three little words, red death and Hawkmoon can all kill you in two shots or less. And if you take in the glitch, so would the last word. So to say there isn't s counter for the weapon would be idiotic to say the least since I counted 6 weapons off of the top of my head that kills just as fast. •If you are going to nerf Thorn because of it two shoting people, by fairness, you should nerf the weapons mentioned in the previous bullet point. In conclusion, stop putting your head in the way of the poison daggers. Guaranteed 100% foolproof solution to your problem.
13 RepliesEdited by harrymfa: 4/17/2015 1:39:30 PMI've been here long enough to remember when Suros Regime was the gun that inspired all these posts. Bungie handed you Suros head on a platter. Now it's Thorn. What will happen next? People will move on to the next gun, I assume Red Death or The Last Word. You will never be happy. Here's an idea: GIT GUD, SCRUB!
-
If anything else gets nerfed bungie just might as well skin all the guns to look like the nerf guns in stores and have all the bullets look like the darts while doing absolutely 0 damage

1 ReplyWith all of this BS "earned" and "xurned" talk on these forums; if there is one gun that is actually earned, it's Thorn. I was (still am) terrible at PVP and had to improve drastically to finish the bounty. Especially since I got it on my Titan. (Is my bubble void? Yeah, my f'n bubble is void. Not racking up the kills for me though, lol) So with that said, I'm gonna keep rocking it. No real decision there. It's only a matter of am I going to use the first Thorn I got, or the second.
-
a group of 6 can lose since the burn doesnt stack, but a team of 6 with hawkmoon and tlw
-
Thorn is OP but I use it for two reasons: 1) I enjoy using it - the recoil is controlled and it sounds great 2) IMO it's the most effective gun in the game and so I'm not going to blindly disadvantage myself in a 1-on-1
-
8 RepliesIf you nerf thorn you got to nerf hawkmoon. Hawkmoon you can one shot with a crit hit. 2 head shots for sure your down. Atleast when you get hit by thorn you can kill the other guy before you die! It's the slow painful death that pisses you off.
-
I'll kill you with the last word, hawkmoon or even a blue hand cannon I forget the name of with the same impact as Timur lash faster than with the thorn. Thorns weak. I will say all hand cannons have far too much range and shotguns are too short range still though, -blam!-ers kill me from sniper distance faster with a hand cannon than I can with a sniper and shotguns only work at about 5ft away, sniper need a huge buff, they are far too slow to aim and shoot twice for the little damage they do. Should be one shot kill, the super slow aiming should counter using it up close as op. Hand cannons and rocket launchers are about the only guns worth using in the whole game.

1 ReplyI've got thorn, and I have to admit it is extremely OP

3 RepliesHow to Make Hummus Makes about 2 cups What You Need Ingredients 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas (roughly 2 cups drained, cooked chickpeas) 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 3 tablespoons tahini 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice (from 1/2 lemon), plus more to taste 1 small clove of garlic, roughly chopped 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon finely ground black pepper To serve: pita wedges, pita chips, raw sliced vegetables Tools A food processor or blender Instructions 1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas: Drain the chickpeas into a strainer and rinse under cool running water. If time and patience allows, pinch the skins from each of the chickpeas; this will make your hummus smoother. 2. Combine all ingredients in the food processor: Combine the chickpeas, olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper in the bowl of the food processor or blender. 3. Blend hummus until smooth: Process the hummus continuously until it becomes very smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to integrate any large chunks. 4. Taste and adjust seasonings: Taste and add more of any of the ingredients to taste. If your hummus is stiffer than you'd like, add more lemon juice or olive oil to thin it out and make the hummus creamier. 5. Transfer to a bowl and serve: Scrape the hummus into a bowl and serve with pita chips or raw vegetables. Hummus will also keep for up to a week in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

1 ReplyI use Thorn in PVE. That is the only reason I don't want it to be nerfed. If they do nerf it, I hope it's only for PVP.

1 ReplyYou'll get over it. I'm sure of it.

U must be a blink, slide shotgun, last word fan? Thorn is a bit OP but it's the best counter to the slide shotgunning last word spammers that infest the crucible.
