High Grimoire Score players
If your getting up there like myself how are you grinding out your:
Hydra kills
Ogre kills
Shotgun kills
Pulse rifle kills
Or any other that are crazy tedious.
I went into Crota's End to try for the Pulse rifle kills on Thrawl but they didn't count.
What is going to really suck is the remaining 3k shotgun kills I need.
I'm looking for other ways than just going to the moon and "waking the Hive"
Beyond burnt on mission.
My buddies and I have came to the conclusion that getting the Rumble wins will be the hardest to knock out, as I am horrible at PVP most of the time.
Edit: wow thanks for all the replies!!! The Grimoire race in my league is really getting competitive.
Hopefully new content will breath life back into this game.
Until then... Off to grind Hydras

I didn't find pulse rifle/shotgun kills too hard to get, especially since they buffed both of them. Just used them all the time. Went by rather quick, still need around 2k handcannon kills.

Grind ogres in shrine of oryx, kill the ogre before the shrine and only the ogre then wipe. Do this on normal only. Yellow bar ogres don't count.

Honestly, I have never done the grind, I just play, and see where it goes... 2715 thus far... but I might just have to take some of this good advice on here and try to boost it, thanks for the post.

Raid kills don't count for enemy kills, weapon kills, or player kills. I harvested ogres at the last cp on the shrine of oryx mission. Harvested hydra kills towards the end of the black garden quest.

Use shotguns and pulse rifles on the ogres and hydras you are farming, that's what I did

Shotguns I just played Crucible. Pulse Rifles, I use Bad Juju on a regular basis for the "kill 3 enemies with super 20 times" bounty

Ogres- Ogre before Sardok on Shrine Of Oryx (Normal) Hydra- The one that spawns in front of the Black Garden portal. Shotgun & Pulse Rifle kills - Just find two that fit your style and use of them in strikes and other PvE activities.

Im currently grinding out ogres and barely do pvp because im bad by conparison to other players

For ogre kills start mission shrine of oryx on lowest difficulty and kill the ogre before u go to the last boss room after u killed the ogre, kill urself and u will start at a checkpoint. For hydra start the black garden, there should be a hydra at the end before u open the gate to the last bosses, kill hydra and shoot urself in the water faster to die rinse repeat

Edited by njl4515: 4/14/2015 2:02:00 AMAs a guy who has done two out of four of those things: Hydra kills by jumping into The Undying Mind strike on Mars. Kill three Hydras, and then ditch and go in again. Ogre kills by jumping into the Shrine of oryx mission on the moon. Kill the ogre, jump off the ledge, respawn to immediately kill ogre again. Shotgun kills by abusing it in Crucible (heh) Pulse rifle is actually pretty easy. Do the Dark Below quest on the moon with Bad Juju. Get to "we've woken the hive!!!" Part and just shoot the Thralls. You never have to reload. Get killed by the yellow guys and respawn to killore Thralls.

struggling with ogre and hydra kills, especially since major versions aren't counting towards the total. You can find a low level ogre in the grottos in the cosmodrome, not sure how long it takes for him to respawn. There is a Hydra at the gate into the black garden on Mars, if you kill all the adds there they will respawn fairly quickly. As far as shotguns go, just run patrol on earth or moon while using shotguns.

You can get ~110 kills per hour. - Kill the Ogre on Shrine of Oryx right before you get to the Shrine, same fashion of hydra. This will yield ~90 kills an hour. - Shotgun I did mainly in Crucible. If via PvE, equip a Legendary Shotgun a long with universal remote, allowing constant firing of shotguns and never need to wait for synth or struggle to find special ammo drops. - Use Bad Juju on thralls on the mission The Dark Beyond, Moon. Same goes for any other weapon. If you don't enjoy the 'waking the hive' for farming, simply patrol planets, earn some rep while farming. I did that for shotguns as well. Good luck with grimoire hunting. I myself need 73 Rumble and 50 Skirmish to get 2910, sitting at 2895 currently...

Hydra: black garden right before you you go in to fight the 3 bosses. There's a hydra. Kill it. Shoot your self in the foot. Repeat. Ogre: Shrine of Oryx. Just before you go into the room with the big spinning ball from tomb raider, there's a ogre. Kill it. Die. Repeat. Make sure you're on normal level for each of these. Major or ultra ogres/hydras don't count. So doing the missions on hard will actually screw you.

No heroic mods can be active for it to count and no raid kills either. Shrine of oryx mission kill ogre jump of edge repeat. Hydra kills on Mars Portal in giants pass

Rising tide and shrine of oryx constantly spawn enemies at the end if you want constant kills on a different mission rather than you've awoke the HIVE, ogres are done on shrine of oryx just kill and wipe do it on easy only, hydra go to Mars the entrance to the black garden one spawns constantly there when all is killed, pvp is going to brake me!!!
