Most of these times are what the console is showing for 'time played'. On xbone, this counts idle time (in orbit, in the tower, pre-lobby crucible, at the title screen, etc). The Legend tab on this site, pick the character, and check the Guardian tab shows a chart with total time in activities (if you have multiple characters, each one will have their time tracked separately). For example, the OP was just over 700 hours of activity time when they made this thread.
