There's basically two strategies that everyone uses in this strike.
First is what I call the Nightfall strategy. It's the "hide in the hallway until the shrieker despawns" one.
Second is the non nightfall, man up and just do it strategy.
I've noticed a whole lot of people tend to like using the Nightfall strategy no matter what level the strike is. Now, I get that it works, but on anything other than nightfall it takes about twice as long to finish, and it spawns 9 extra majors.
If you are the only person hiding in the hallway, you've been outvoted and your ass needs to get in the fight and stop making things harder for anyone not playing peekaboo.
That is all.

Top of the mountain strategy works pretty well

7 RepliesThere is a 3rd, protect the guy who is currently stunlocking phogoth from 100% to 0% with Black Hammer and actually winning
-
You forgot about the 'sitting behind the rock' strategy
-
4 RepliesI have the best spot behind some rocks, I could solo it back when I was 29. Crouch and in crouch to shoot phogoth
-
8 RepliesNightfall: hallway Non-Nightfall: guns blazing
-
Pretty much this...unless its void burn on weekly...I won't be in the hallway... Its much more fun to get in the thick of it.
-
Absolutely agree
-
Nightfall is the only situation where I understand that you don't want to die. Otherwise, if you're looking to cheese a normal strike I don't know why you play this game.
-
2 RepliesI'm still waiting for the day they make 4 wizards spawn in the shrieker room and chase you out into the hallway.
-
Unless it's arc burn I always use the left elevated platform situated by the stairs in the back. It's perfect cover and even allows you to get close enough to damage phoghead with shotguns.
-
I want people to let me blackhammer phogoth and protect me from adds.
-
Yeah I'll shoot the shrieker and let it kill them if they pull that crap on a lvl 14 mission.
-
Yes. Two morons pulled the shrieker room bullcrap in a ROC last night and extended the time to complete by like 20 mins! I had to play along though, because staying back like they did created a huge amount of knights and wizards.

Edited by ryanW: 2/10/2015 7:28:21 PMI havent been forced to fight Brogoth in weeks. He never comes up in ROC strikes for me.
-
1 ReplyI find in roc strikes no one ever uses the nightfall strategy and almost always everyone just goes to the back left of the main area and snipe to keep phogoth from shooting till he's dead
-
I used that strategy for the last nightfall (tbh I didn't know about it until I ran it with my friends and they showed me). I've done Summoning Pits as a ROC strike 3-4 times since, and every time I am in the room killing everyone as they spawn. It's not only more interesting since you're not just sitting back, it's a heck of a lot more fun
-
Only thing worse than this us when people she in the hallway before Sepiks Prime. I use the room with the stairs for the nightfall. Last time, some random from my friends list came in and anti-camped the uber aggressive captain right on top of my ass...
-
1 ReplyIf I'm using my titan the first thing i do is pop a bubble right in the doorway. Any other class and i stand in front of them blocking their shots until they man up and come to the party
-
Black hammer enough said!!!!
-
If you know what you are doing you can sit in the doorway and dps, no shrieker and phogoth stands in your line of sight and takes it. I do what my fireteam is doing though.
-
Only idiots hide in that strike for anything other than nightfall
-
Yes, I hate it when I have to deal with a ton of wizards and other adds because one player is too chicken to enter the arena.
-
Does it really matter how a person plays. Maybe they want extra exp with the Wizards that spawn. Maybe they don't want to sneeze and die. Maybe they are a noob who hasn't figured out how much damage they take before its critical to move etc. Maybe they enjoy playing conservatively. Just because some guardians thrive in chaos doesn't mean others do or enjoy that. You don't see them telling anyone else to stay in the room. I have seen so many ways of doing this strike from the Roo. To the rock to the pillar on the right side to up top on the walkways to running like a chicken all over the map shooting. I think it's one of my fav because of the options. Play it like you want.

This guy gets it ^^

2 RepliesI hate those idiots. I can perma flinch him with my black hammer. Just watch my back or join me.
