Females playing destiny.....
Although I play as a male, I am in fact of the female variety in real life. I've never tried the VOG because I feel that people might not want to play with me being a female, so I feel that if people don't know this, like on strikes with the mic off then I get treated as 'one of the guys', the job gets done and everyone is happy at the end of it. I really feel I'm missing out on the raids as I don't know what people think and just wondered what's everyone's opinion on females being part of a team.
Are there lots of females playing and I don't know this because I've muted everyone or are there not many at all?
I have three characters on the go, two of them level 31 and play every day, love the game but feel that being female would put you guys off so I stick to strikes and bounties when I really want to try the raids. Is this the case or am I wrong...... Hopefully I am!
Update: Should've said I'm on xbox 360 and thanks to all the offers from other consoles to join their group etc. I've had a great response for the most part so thanks for the continuing comments.

I play with a husband and wife team on the other hand and they rock out on Xbox One. Have played with 2 girls on PS4 and they rock out as well. I am always reviving people but that's both male and female. Anyone wanting help or wanting to help others should join [b]The Help Doctor[/b]. We do just about anything and everything. Play well. Don't be annoying (this applies to EVERYONE though). And no one will care what your gender is. ... Ok maybe some teenagers/kids will say things but thats to be expected.

Gamers are gamers. If you can shot and not die your good. Use your mic and communicate. Especially on raids, nightfalls, and weekly. You will come across a few jerks. Go into their profile and block them. I have blocked a few players myself because they where jerks. I play female characters and other than players checking out my gear, in the tower, I have not been harassed. Most players are cool. I raid, nightfall, weekly all of the time. I run VOG normal at least once a week to help out other players and get a chance at the exotic chest. Raiding is the best part of this game. If your on Xbox one send me a message or jump into my game anytime. Also look into the "dames of destiny" clan. Female gamers that like to game together.

Every time I have done strikes with females They have tried hard and have been helpful. There is a lot of immature people on Destiny

But even if I didn't know her and she didn't know how to raid,I'd still be patient and walk her through it. Make, female, I will play with you. We or clean has a few female guardians. They have a great sense of humor, and we all have a good time.

We have three girls in our clan atm trust me its not looked down upon. They run raids they kill shit alls good.

When I first started raiding, I wouldn't talk for like the first ten minutes (unless the group freaked about me being able to talk or not) that way I could kinda gauge the group and decide if they were chill or gonna have a cow about me being a girl. I've only encountered one raid group of incredibly rude, disrespectful guys. I would give it a shot and hope for the best. Worse scenario, you get put it a bad group.. So you leave and report some people. Keep going till you find a good one! If you're on xbox one you can add me gt is same as here.

You are mistaken. Just find a group of mature players. Many Bungie groups/clans fit that profile and there are also several with one or more girls/women on their roster. As a sidenote, how do you expect the guys' who don't play well with girls attitude to change if not by having more girls come out of the closet so to speak?

Gender doesn't matter to me. It is nice when you get a little diversity in the voices however (excluding the cases where you get a little kid who never shuts up/complains about EVERYTHING) so you can tell who is talking. Anyways as long as you are a decent player it shouldn't really matter.

Played with a few, but not many. My bad attitude is reserved for crap/lying players, male or female. Just do the raids and switch to a different team if you get grief - its their problem.

To be honest I don't care what gender you are, i don't criticize gender because I believe that we're all equal but if you have a feeling that people are grasping on to you when your in a group. either just ignore or leave that's the choice you have, depending on the age that the people are in the group. Teens as we'll below, are probably the most people who might flock on you which is natural since they don't see a lot of females in the gaming community. I would suggest sending a message to the person your going to join for a raid to see if people will "flock" you if you don't like it find people who respect this ideal I have.
