They would have most likely still lost, I believe it was mainly because of the USSR that Germany lost the war.

Edited by Mr EGFC: 11/1/2015 3:47:51 PMThere are a few situations I see. If the USA didn't join the war, we would have to assume Pearl Harbour was never attacked as there was no way it could have just been ignored. This brings up possibility 1- Edit- before I begin, I wanted to point out that where you see anything to do with Germany in speech marks, it actually means nàzi, or reïch, however you can't write that in the forums (as I found out when everything changed to -GodWinsLaw-). I just wanted to clear this up as not to offend anyone as I know not all Germans Supported the Adolf's regime. 1) With Britain not needing to put more of its troops in the Pacific, more of its Mercenary and colonial forces could be put in Europe, possibly replacing the US troops. Also with the US not needing to use its own materials (like oil, metal, etc.) Britain could still buy from them. This leads to a Cold War between the British Empire and the Soviet Union rather than the Western allies and the eastern world. 2) Britain is pushed back out of France and is Defensive, still cracking the Enigma Code (as the Colossus was built by the British Post Office) and managing to hold back the Wehrmacht with the advantage of knowing what they are planning. However since the winter in Russia that the "Germans" were ill prepared for is what caused Soviet momentum and end of the "German 1939-45 government". However the weakened Europe without the Allied forces to hold them back the Soviets don't stop, invading all of Europe by sheer numbers. With the huge area and resources controlled by the Kremlin and the USA not being militarised (eg. No nukes, not as many tanks, ships, planes or soldiers) they can't stand up to the heavily militarised USSR. Therefore the Soviet Union is the sole superpower in the world. 3) "Germany" manages to stick it out in Stalingrad and invades Britain. They dominate Europe, Asia and North Africa. The take control of all of the British territories too, meaning German influence is spread across the world. The Reich invades the rest of the developing world with ease and eventually either the USA surrenders to the far more powerful "Germany", is invaded or simply collapses as the "Germans" put more and more restrictions on the US. Hitler's dream of a world lead by his master race. That, as someone who isn't a historian, are the ones I could think of.

2 RepliesEdited by HarakiriGod: 3/30/2015 10:39:16 AMFrance was occupied, parts of Great Britain was getting bombed, Russia was getting swamped, up to the point were the Germans were getting close to Stalingrad/not to mention that many Russians were starving to death & the Russians also had a frail economy as well as subpar military technology. China, was getting hammered by JPN JPN took control of Vietnam & Korea as well. If the US had not joined, the axis powers would of clearly won the war. US advantages: •Nukes •Naval fleet that rivals JPN's naval fleet & Germany's U-boats •P-51 mustangs, humiliated virtually every plane & ground vehicle •B-24 Liberator & B-29 Stratofortress, able to fly at higher altitudes(essentially able to avoid oncoming AA gun fire & Flak) and successfully bomb factories/key areas of Germany •far away from Germany, as Germany did not have the infrastructure & technology (yet) to impose any type of threat to the US (essentially the only thing the US had in stake, was the lives of American soldiers that were drafted into war).

1 ReplyYes. Because Bigfoot would have covered the moon

Ofcourse it would have.

Very debatable. In terms of actual war making, we probably weren't needed. But things like lend-lease, Destroyers for bases, and loans all played a big role early on. It is important to remember though: Germany was stalled in a bad position, Japan couldn't win by itself. Oh, and Italy was a detriment to its team.

7 RepliesEdited by ShpadoinkleBeks: 4/3/2015 5:13:54 AMThe fact that we were fighting a war on two fronts and still advancing throughout shows the power that my country had at the time. Our air force alone did so much to cripple the German war effort. They practically destroyed the Luftwaffe over the skies of Germany and Europe. In fact more 8th air force men died than all of our marines did in the pacific. (This could just be a testament to how amazing the men of the marine corps were) We will never know what would happen but i can say this many more brits, Canadians and Aussies would die in the hedgerows of Normandy if it weren't for us yanks. Not to mention the sands of north Africa, or Sicily and the march to Rome.

1 ReplyVERY debatable, so many factors involved, so I'm glad our country fought and threw out that isolationist "not our problem" issue (thanks Japan!) Personally, I think it is possible that the Germans might have figured out the atomic bomb. And they wouldn't debate using it...

Edited by XPhoenixUnknown: 11/1/2015 2:11:18 AMHistorically, there downfall was actually the Soviets. America just kind of finalized it Edit, so yes

The US was mainly the final push that overwhelmed Germany. Germany was already losing on multiple fronts but only Stalin had the capability to push back. They may have eventually been defeated but the war would have dragged out for much longer possibly decades.
-
Probably. Things were going downhill after Hitler's dumb ass decided to invade Russia.....and in the winter too! What a -blam!-ing noob. The only reason we intervened in Europe was because we didn't want Russia to be the dominant power in Europe.
-
Yes. Russia was the big power play in Europe. We were in the Pacific more.
-
Yes, because they invaded Russia. Had they not invaded it, they would have whooped some serious ass.
-
Yes, just would've taken longer.
-
Yes because they invaded Russia in the winter
-
Yeah they'd a lost eventually. G8 b8 m9

No, the USA saved the world from -godwinslaw!-
-
Yeah, but it would've taken longer.

Define "defeated"
-
Nope, if Japan didn't attack us we wouldn't of intervened and all of Europe would be known as Germany

5 RepliesIf I remember correctly, we (the US) were just the final nail in the coffin in both world wars

We'll never know.
