Ruin Wings owners
Just wondering, how'd you get them, and are they worth it? Do you like them? Do you notice an increase in heavy ammo available throughout gameplay?
Edit: nuff said. I had the game at launch, stopped playing when I hit 30, picked it back up a week or two after the dark below came out and missed Xur selling them. There's really no Titan exotic I like except those so it's good to know they're good. I also have gjallahorn so :)
Edit2: ok, so do any of you have the stand asides? I know those probably have to be controversial but anyone got an opinion on those?

I bought the stand asides just in case I couldn't get the Raid boots so I could have alternate paths to level 32. I'm really glad I did because all I need now are the raid boots. I love them. I haven't used them at all in pvp and that's where I feel they will be most valuable. However I used them during my Roc strike grind yesterday and had a blast with them. Plus they look really cool with sunsetting shader.

1 ReplyI got mine when Xur sold them the week the DLC launched. They are pretty decent since I hate the No Backup Plans gauntlets. The increase in purple ammo drops seems sporadic, I will go 15 minutes without seeing one, and then toss a grenade into a group and have four appear.

Sometimes its crazy how much ammo you end up with on the ground, other times i seem to get none at all. With stand asides, they are great for shoulder charge in pvp, but i personally like the armamentarium for PVP so I ended up dismantling my stand asides.

Little did I know what xûr would have in stock just a few short days later.. As far as heavy ammo drops go, I find that it absolutely drops more frequently. There are times that purple literally litters the floor and I can't seem to dispose of my heavy ammo fast enough. However, like everything else RNG in this game, you are apt to hit a few dry spells from time to time, albeit less frequently. Always have heavy synth vailable for ze tuff times.

I bought them from Xur the first week, but don't usually use them because I have raid gauntlets. Can't wait to try it with my new Gjallarhorn though. If it's as crazy as it was with my other launchers (4 rockets per ammo drop and purple ammo as far as the eye can see) I'll be [i]very[/i] happy.

Bought them. Pretty decent, the ammo perk is hit or miss. Seems to be feast or famine for me, went 4 strikes in a row without a drop before. On the bright side, it seems to benefit teammates too.

Bought from Xur. When they do work I'll see 5+ Heavy packs on the ground. Other times they seem broken and won't drop any Heavy.

Bought from xur worth every coin also can get from his gauntlet engram if he isn't selling it and has the engram. Very nice piece of armor makes a lot of heavy ammo.

Second best exotic to Armamentarium. I use it mostly in raids or weekly strikes. I never run short of heavy ammo. Got it from Xur

Xurned it. Love it. Just waiting for the raid chest for my titan so I can rock them while being 32. There is an increase in heavy ammo. Almost don't need synthesis lol
