Sniper Rifle Black Hammer?
What do you think about this weapon?

1 ReplyIt's a great gun and can really excel over ice breaker, but it's situational, and there will always be small unavoidable things that cause you to miss one precision hit from the mag, regardless of how good you aim. Ice breaker does not care about this. If you do archon priest strike with two friends and have them keep your flanks clear, you can take out the archon priest without allowing him a single shot, because he is constantly staggered from being headshot over and over. He won't even get the chance to move from the prison cell. Too easy.

I love it, especially for the tank during the Nightfall this week. Never had to reload once. Then there's atheon, templar, gatekeeper, vex nexus, orgres from the warmind campaign, so many mobs that you can just keep shooting without having to ever reload, there are times when you do miss, but most of the time I would have enough time to get 3 shots in and avoid damage from the mobs. I love this weapon, now I haven't used the Ice Breaker so I don't know how that works.

amazing against boss since hitting three constant precision hits refill the ammo in the magazine meaning you can just spray precision shots at bosses

Best sniper for strike bosses, I love it more than ice breaker.

Black Hammer is the only other sniper worthy of replacing Ice Breaker for another exotic in a different slot.

This weapon is thee only other weapon I've touched (more than touched actually) besides Icebreaker. It finally gives me an exotic primary or heavy slot I can use. The precision mag bonus perk is not only so fun to use, but I take down bosses, or most bosses within a matter of almost seconds. It's even faster than that if I have someone else on my team with it. Me on my teammate put in WORK on the tank during the Cerebus Vae Nightfall this week. And don't even get me started on Sepiks. By myself, he's done within a couple minutes. See people have this BH vs IB thing and I don't get it. I have both and they're both equally that great for different sittuations. But yes, BH is a great weapon.

Took out the Fallen Walker pub event in The Divide in 20 seconds. Its amazing if you can get easy crits.

Its amazing vs any boss with a large precision hit box. Otherwise is a solid sniper, but due to ammo limitations and a 3 shot magazine its outclassed by some other snipers in normal situations. I also think its terrible for PvP. If you like strikes, this weapon cuts a lot of time off them. Particularly in strikes where there are 2 boss fights.

5 RepliesAwesome boss killer and good for boomers during crota as long as you're good with crit shots. Run out of ammo? Throw on the icebreaker let it regen and switch back, ammo problem solved

It's a great gun but when you get it 5 times and no other raid weapons it starts to piss you off

I was lucky enough to have this drop 3 times even though I only kept one. I know shred the tank in the tuarac mission in about 2 minutes if that. Same with aksor, sepiks and many other big critical hit bosses. Phogoth too if you can get a good Angel to infinite stun him.

If you can actually aim, this weapon will make Gjallarhorn look like a crayon shooter in terms of dps

I like it. It's very useful for bosses with good crit spots: Devil Walker, Sepiks Prime, the tank on Mars strike, Valus Tauruc, etc. if you can chain the crits together you have unlimited ammo AND you don't even have to reload! It's kind of a bummer if you miss and don't get the free ammo though. I still keep my icebreaker for those situations or when ill be doing rapid duck and cover sniping and don't want to rely on making the crit. still infinite ammo but with icebreaker you have to wait for it to regen.
