thorn bounty is impossible
Whose -blam!-ing idea was
This so I can go strangle them, impossible -blam!-ing bounty

The bounty because I want the thorn so badly, I'm sorry for posting this

Yet thousands, if not millions, of people own it and have owned it for months. It's not impossible. You need to know your limits and come prepared. Do what I did, growl while you wield it if you must, and pick up a void based fusion rifle. Pair it with a void based machine gun and you're golden. If you have an Epilogue that helps even more though I wouldn't bank on it too much. It does like thirteen damage per head shot so any high impact weapon will out dps you for days. Camp if you have to too. Yeah it's a shitty tactic but you're only doing it to complete the bounty.

1 ReplyIt has to be hard, especially for a weapon like thorn. I have to admit, it was a pain to do. Luckily I had atheons epilogue, praedyths revenge, and corrective measure which all do void damage. The last part, the strike is impossible alone. So get someone with you for that.

Your a warlock and seriously can't kill with void? I've done this twice as a hunter with no void abilities. Git gud. Atheons epilogue, sword breaker, truth. Or other void variants. Not hard

Some just do not like PVP and that's fine. Exotic bounties shouldn't require PVP as the only way to satisfy them IMO. As to the problem though, I sucked at PVP at first. (Still not much better now but maybe at least average) I had two friends help me in skirmish and it's not that bad. Void Rocket launchers or Corrective Measure, Epilogue (if you have one), and a decent void fusion rifle or shotgun. You don't have to get kills just touch the opposing player and if someone else finishes them you get some points for the bounty. Work on survivability and just getting a piece of the other player or team.

Did the whole thing with void fusion and heavy last night didn't use epilouge it's pants soloed the strike wishlist hadn't though 1 hour it took me let's just say lots of ghorns were fired

Did it with epilogue shotty and truth on my warlock. Wasn't hard at all

I thought the same thing until I actually did it. Best advice I can give is play control and stick with the team, or a little behind them so they die first and you see where the enemy is.

I know how you feel man. I personally avoid PvP like the black plague. The best advice I can give you is to not play PvP for the bounty. Don't even look to see how many points you have, just play it. I raged big time doing this bounty and finally got pissed and just decided to start wrecking people and before I knew it, I was done with that part. The next part though....... That's worse than the PvP part. Hope you have a Gjallahorn and or Icebreaker.

Use any void weapons that suit your play style most. But importantly spec for any void grenade and super you may have. Me being voidwalker at the time allowed the bounty to be completed in 5 games which isnt too bad.

Why do so many people that don't like PvP and/or are not good at it want a PvP exotic hand cannon? This is like the fifth topic like this I've seen about Thorn bounty being hard. It really isn't, but if it is that hard for you, maybe don't bother with it? PvP clearly isn't your thing, so why go through all that frustration to get a weapon that is meant for a gametype you won't play?

Have 3 Thorns, Crucible section just make sure you are at Heavy Ammo, spawns in at 9mins, 6mins, 3mins. Use Truth because the aggressive tracking is very good for scrubs. The Strike is easy with arc weapons, and easier if you have friends helping.

I finished mine yesterday.. its definitely possible. Awesome HC btw. Finally have all exotic HC's. Hawkmoon is great too.
