I keep hearing a lot of different stuff about the recent outages. I've heard it was hacked, and I've heard Sonys servers couldn't keep up with the influx of new Christmas players. Does anyone have the straight answer?? I'd kind of like to know for sure if my personal, or financial information was compromised.
Edit 1: Thanks for the info guys. Hopefully all this shit will get sorted out soon. I only get a couple nights to game every week, and they're coming up fast!!

No it was ddosed. It's not hacking. It's little kids sending massive amounts of information to the Sony/ Microsoft servers to overload them. Childish.

2 RepliesNo one's information was stolen. If you're worried just do a quick google search and you'll see that it's not being reported anywhere. That's what I did after my dad was trying to tell me all my information was stolen.

Not a hack, just a DDoS attack

I hope so, I could go for some free stuff

I'd say that's a hack... http://techcrunch.com/2014/12/27/anonymous-leaked-a-massive-list-of-passwords-and-credit-card-numbers/ Anonymous managed to get a few Windows LIVE e-mails (most likely through spoofing) but the vast majority are PSN users. I'd post the actual listing but that'd be illegal.

It was only a DDoS attack, your info is fine bruh.

Korea is getting information so they can attack all people with sony products.

DDoS attack by Lizard Squad. A little bit of overreacting by Christmas Noobs. That's all.
