Psn Discussion (pissed/sympathetic)?
Personally I feel pretty betrayed. I spent hundreds on the console the games and the service itself. It goes down for a day I'm not mad. They do maintenance, understandable. But for it to go down for 3 days is pretty bull shit, and will be unless they decide to make it right and compensate us some how. Idc I'll take a couple day extension on my service, it's the principle..
I want opinions people. Am I justified in feeling this way or just a crybaby?
1. I can't play any games due to licensing
2. I'm not pissed or angry I just feel wronged

10 RepliesKinda just a crybaby The only thing owed to us is to not be charged for the days we could not access PSN. A Ddos does not count as a hack, and it's not entirely preventable especially with the way Lizard Squad orchestrated the attack. I'm slightly irritated, but I'm sympathetic toward both companies. There wasn't much either of them really could have done.

You are justified to feel however you want. As a human being, you have the right to an opinion. That being said, I felt similar earlier today when I still could not sign on. It also made me mad that the network was working just a few minutes before I passed out on the couch and it was back down a few minutes before I woke up. All I wanted to do was verify my brand new ps4 with the network and link it to my account. I had games to tie me over until the network came back on but after another 14 hours I became very frustrated. As a last ditch effort I changed my WiFi settings and suddenly I was back online. It was a little disheartening that I had to fix the issue myself and that the "support" we (didn't) received was piss poor. All the tweets were the same border plate messages and nothing to help resolve. I give props to those guys who braved the phone lines to gouge information out of the customer service agents. Now that I'm back online and downloading all the games I bought and received as gifts, I do feel better about the situation and I'm not so upset at Sony for dropping their proverbial balls. Or forgetting they had any to begin with really. I'm pissed that a bunch of self righteous asshats felt the need to troll everyone. If that's what really happened. I start to wonder if it really was some dumb kids and not some dumb kids being paid by someone to make it seem like an attack was happening, when in reality, Sony couldn't handle the influx of so many new customers. Tin foil hat off now.

5 RepliesIt reminds me of why I liked the 360 over the ps3. PSN is garbage in comparison to XBL. This incident has given me buyer's remorse. Oh, well. I'll probably be getting an xbox one with halo 5 in a bit.

I was able to play three new games I received this Xmas without the network. Watch movies. Have some fun. The system didn't shutdown, didn't become a paper weight. I don't need to play destiny everyday... It's not the only game out there. To be honest... $50 a year doesn't entitle people to piss their pants with rage...

14 RepliesWe seek to blame someone and there are apologists who make bullshit claims about the actions of the people who are responsible. It isn't Sony. Or MS. It is the used condom leftovers that created this crapfest of a problem and supposedly got rewarded for it that are the problem. This is still the after effects of what they did. On Christmas. Over a weekend. Anyone who defends them, in my book, is incredibly bad at being a decent person.

Sony could not stop a DDOS not a lot can barr taking the server offline (the cure is also the desease, you could say), MS and XBOX could not stip it either. Sure PSN was down longer than XBL, but itnwas not just one DDOS, PSN was hit by three almost one after.the other,.as.soon as Sony told us ot was back up the DDOS kiddies hit it again "for the lulz" Only 8 hours of the downtime was Sony's fault amd that was tracing IPs amd blocking them from the system

5 RepliesFor the most part, I feel like you (and so many others) are overreacting. I know that Destiny has one of the more....obsessive communities. We've been locked out a few days. I've wanted to play it too. But take into account that both companies went down due to people hacking systems and disrupting all the services. Sony has been hit much more and harder than Microsoft; with all of their issues with North Korea. I own both, so I'm trying not to be biased.

Three, almost four days of being down is a little rediculous. Like if they get attacked and are down for a day or two even, fine I understand. But theres a point where its just like really? And this is after we had to start paying for psn? And I know its ddos and hard to counter but its still very annoying.

1 ReplyEvery time the network has a hiccup I just think of all the times I had an Xbox red ring on me. I'm on my fifth Xbox and I have never had a PlayStation to fail, even my original from the 90's still works. Networks can be fragile, my local hub is at the foot of a hill, before it was elevated and mounted on a concrete slab the internet would go out everytime it rained. Now that was inconvenient. Nothing to do outside because of the rain and no internet inside.

4 RepliesI just got off the phone with the playstation help line and was told there is no timetable for psn going back up. The woman on the line told me it was not an attack it was unscheduled maintenance. She went on to tell me that there will be no reimbursement of any kind because the contract we agreed to when signing up for psn includes a clause for such occurrences. This is not all sonys fault but they are not making there situation any better.
