The Last Word is GARBAGE
Alright to lay down the law, this is coming from a guy who owns Thorn,Fatebringer,Devil You Know and that funky new monarchy hand cannon, yes I'm the hand cannon king. And yes, I have a great online pvp record & K/D so I'm not just some bad pvp kid that's making a raging forum thread.
Honestly, this gun is so overrated, there is NO DOUBT the little gun spin is cool and its got an awesome name and it just looks incredible BUT that doesn't make it a good weapon. It only has a modest 8 round mag, and when its upgraded its recoil is basically none existent with a hefty fire rate, but like most hand cannons still a 3 shot kill online. However compared to The Fatebringer it cannot compare at all, explosive rounds, lighting fast reload,arc damage and a 12 round mag.... it's a no brainer really, plus it frees up an exotic slot. And just think about this,why would you want a kinetic single shot weapon that only has an 8 round mag in PVE?
Usually I'd be pi$$3d if i saw Xur selling an exotic that I'd worked hard to get for a measly few coins, but with The Last Word I really couldn't care if I see every forum n00b running around with it, don't believe all the hype!!! It's honestly nothing special, just because it's probably the rarest exotic in the game doesn't make it any good, for me anyway, it's just another yellow background to my vault collection!
It's a fancy decoration at best,prove me otherwise.

The devil u know is great because it also frees up exotic and has a extremely large mag. Going from three rd mags to maybe 6 to 15 is awesome. U can kill multuple enemies even if u miss whicj isnt uncommon with a hand cannon. So i can see ur point but the rate of fire makes TLW i sane to defend if the opponent is skilled. I to only fear other handcannoners.

just curious if you received it today as a nightfall reward, slapped it on as soon as you got it and labelled it terrible? I have seen so many posts by players using non upgraded weapons and giving them terrible reviews. If your gun isn't maxxed I don't care about your opinion on it.

yes good keep telling every one its bad. I as a thorn user fear only one other hand cannon regardless of the players skill or experience and thats the last word. so if every one thinks its bad and no one uses it ill fear no hand cannon. sadly this will never happen

For example if you did 100 with a single bullet, then you'd do 50 damage split into 2 points. It's possible that only one of those points will connect making explosive rounds less powerful than the normal bullet counterpart. It's possible as well and very likely that you'll only get one point to crit.

Only need three shots to get a kill with it, no recoil and you can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger, I think the problem is the person holding the gun not the gun itself.

Another pointless debate on the game's weaponry. Every player has their preference and can put forward a good argument to support their choice. It just makes me laugh when players start yelping about their favourite guns declaring their braggadocio as an absolute truth. BOLLOCKS!

Using it wrong. Plain and simple. The last word is the hand cannon. All others are revolvers. Comparing the TlW to fatebringer or any other hand cannon can't be done. TlW is far different as is its play style. its 100% a PvP weapon, definitely hit that point hah. I don't own one, but my roomie does (bastard), let me take It to the cruc on his singer, was frakkin amazing. Stay just out of shotgun/melee range, back up as you fire if they charge you. TLW will win. Other cannons are marksman weapons, TLW is the QuickDraw duelist weapon (in other words PANIC and shoot wildly at everything that moves).

I have 100% HK you can possible get on XBONE :) dismantled Dead orbit one and FWC because they are both peace of shit. The best so far is Thorn for PVP that gun is just -blam!- ppl apart TLW ( I have 3 of them ) is really facking great with blade dancer and smaller maps..... The easiest to use it The Lord High Fixer for sure and I can't say anything bad about this gun !!! Super easy to use and nice perks on top. But really. You claimed that you are HK King ?! HAHAHAHA and saying that TLW is bad..... You need to update your brain......

1.97 isnt nice at all just saying and Last word is def a great weapon in crucible atleast when i use it this is coming form a guy who is just 100% pve with over 50+ completions one of the first clans to beat the raid both difficulties but yeah back to the subject The Last word is amazing...
