Golden gun sucks golden balls.
The damage [i]sucks[/i]. Forget PVP for a moment. PVE damage is absolutely awful. I can hit around 2k-3k depending on the enemy with all 3 shots.. Or I could just whip out my sniper and crit an enemy for the same.
Buff this shiz.

I'm not a hunter, but I would agree that it's too weak for PvE.

4 RepliesThe EXOTIC HELMENT FOR HUNTERS has the an attribute that allows you to get a fourth enery bullet for the golden gun! P.S - I don't know if there actually called 'energy bullets' I just call them that.

I use it to take down Phalanx, just don't want to bother when the angry modifer is active and you can't get them to drop their shields... Golden gun is Hunter class, we can deal damage but our true skill is dealing damage and then vanishing before the enemy can retaliate. Not vanish as in go invisible, that's BladeDancer, but I just mean slip away before they can hit. Try looking at it like this, you run the edges of a battle, aka the AoE, looking for places that are ideal and weak for a strike. You find that line, pick your targets and build your strategy. Ok, I'll head shot the 2 dregs, grenade the sniper on the left, knife the sniper vandal on the right, slip past the servitor, summon my golden gun out as I found the corner, 2 shots in the captains shield, third shot drops him, round another corner as you pull out a sniper or maybe fusion rifle and shoot that servitor in the eye. It's another ace in your hand, because you can drop three almost sniper hard hits without the crazy zoom aiming. Use it as part of a whole repertoire in conjunction with other strategies and tactics. Might work for us, might not...

1 ReplyGolden gun is key in hard mode VoG. If you have three hunters running portal team every time you get green room, the praetorian dies in 3 seconds from the two non-relic carrying hunters popping their super, which due to atheons mechanics you have your super up every time you are ported.

I use mine all the time. Either clear a mob of ads or chip away at bigger targets.

Yea golden gun is pretty much useless against bosses. No crit damage and doesn't do more damage than a sniper. I don't bother to use it half the time

The golden gun needs to do a lot more damage. Think about it. You wouldn't have to worry about it affecting PVP in the sense of it dealing more damage, since each shot is already a OHK anyways. This would be purely for the purpose of increasing Gunslinger viability in PVE.

2 RepliesIt's not as bad as Bladedancer in PvE. Blade dancer you take out like 7 enemies and one elite and you drop one orb. Duhfuk? But yes Hunter supers In PvE are not great. You have to wait till an elites health is low then get the kill shot to drop orbs.

supers are for add control from what I can tell.

6 RepliesVery true. I can headshot an opponent with my legendary sniper for as much as I hit with golden gun - possibly even more. But I've yet to see a sniper bullet make any of my targets explode on death, and take out four+ surrounding mobs. And no, the Hive members that explode don't count. My personal best was five extra kills, I think. All dependant on how you spec it, and when you use it.

It's handy if you use it so it explodes the bad guys. Can take a few out in crowds and quickly, throw a knife in or a couple and can help out you out in strikes etc. True it isn't overly powerful but i still enjoy it.

I love golden gun. With the exploding enemies perk I often get 8 orbs per use. It is better on mobs than bosses but it's still *way* better on bosses than foh or arc blade.

7 Repliesyou must not have your gunslinger class upgraded fully yet...."keyhole" over penetrates..i have killed 6 with 3 shots before and i have killed shielded mobs just fine.nothing wrong with the golden gun

3 Repliesthe hunters grenades suck too. its either you hit dead on with proximity or you just basically tossed away a grenade because you didn't like it.

2 RepliesIt can't crit so it's absolute trash against anything that isn't one shot. If it critted it would be much better, but it'd be op. I suggest they make it crit for 50% of the dmg a normal crit would do.

one thing to keep in mind is a special should be used on mobs and not bosses. its more effective that way, and a team that does that feeds eachother globes.

Raise your intellect stat in the game with armor and you get special more often. Golden guys is great but its not meant for strong mobs unless the have solar weakness. I only use it on things I can one hit then concentrate on whatever big guy is left. In pvp is so great.

2 RepliesU can make it where golden gun recharges so fast I had it that way for awhile and pve wasn't that bad with it plus if u have that helmet u get 4 shots.

6 RepliesYes. Golden gun needs a buff so hard. Because the other 2 classes actually have to leave cover and commit to an all or nothing attack that usually gets them killed if they try it on a boss, that does probably less damage then the golden gun. Sounds legit.
