Xbox broke :(
It's sad seeing Destiny posts but knowing my xbox 360 broke 2 weeks before it's released.. it won't turn on. Thought it was the power box cuz it was red. But I got a new one and it still doesn't work. And it's not the outlet cuz I tried different ones. And I don't have a warranty.

My ps3 broke 3 weeks ago luckily was under warrenty and it's already been shipped back so i should have it in time for destiny

4 RepliesThis may sound extremely stupid but trust me, A few months back my Xbox did the RROD but only one quadrant was lit up so I knew it was a power failure. I looked around on the interwebz and saw that someone mentioned putting the power brick and cord in the freezer for about 30 -45 mins then using it would make it work again. I was hesitant to try that but I didn't wanna buy a new console at the time, so I tried it and it actually worked perfectly! Never had another power problem after that.

Contact Xbox they are good about that stuff. I'd ignore the Sony trolls they are in denial of the YLOD issue. Saw the tear down of the PS4 with that tiny fan and minimal ventilation and now I'm wondering how many BLOD are to come. Troubleshoot it and worse comes to worse you have a warranty.

1 ReplyEdited by Tim vdB3: 9/3/2014 10:40:40 PMI got the 2nd red ring and that was a power problem, I just turned off the Xbox and I let the brick cool down a little and restarted it and was fixed, also opened it for some repairing and it works fine ever since. I also electrocuted myself, 230v trough my arm and it felt really strange but YOLO.

sometimes its because the USB connector thingies are bent and are touching the metal . if you bend them back it may work

23 RepliesThat sucks man I feel your pain. When I had a 360, I had it at launch, was originally a PS/Nintendo guy but ditched my Ps2 about halfway through its life cycle for a xbox and loved it. Bought a 360 thinking things could only get better....up until 2 years ago, I went through 15 of them. MS never sent me a new one, they'd always replace with a refurbished one which didn't last. So after #12 I bought a black elite, it rrod, sent it in, later on traded it for a slim, wich I sold. The whole time I had a ps3 which did fail once, also which I played more, which I traded up for a slim PS3 few years ago. I never had any console ever to fail up until last gen, 360 being the worst, and that was mostly because MS sent me faulty refurbs. Sorry to hear your luck man, but it happens, perfect time to upgrade I have a one and a PS4 both seem ok. Being an xbox guy you should go with the Xbone, as that's what all your friends will probably be upgrading too....or get a PS4 and meet some peeps here :)

I have an old 369 that doesn't take disc but still works perfectly fine
