I had a face injury due to the ball smashing into my face. Very painful.
Didn't play for a while then I started again. I'm so -blam!-ing shit now, i'm scared of the ball and I can't -blam!-ing get the ball of anyone and my passes are piss poor. I played in Mid or sometimes defense mainly mid though but now I -blam!-ing can't do shit.
I need to get my skill back. Got any suggestions? Can someone tell me how to not be scared of the ball? Can someone tell me how to improve my passes/skill? How can I actually tackle and get the ball of an opponent again without failing?...I rarely can get the ball of someone now, they just skill me up. Someone help me to improve my tackling skills and get past their skills to tackle them...I just stick a leg out now. Practice ain't gonna do it, I tried and it isn't making me improve at all.
I'm a really good football player......or used to be. Everyone on the team thinks I should just quit because i've suddenly become bad. I used to be the 2nd best player on the team now i'm last.
Oh and now when I have the chance to get the ball I don't bother my body just rejects me and I get too scared. I don't try as much and don't run in to try and usually successfully get the ball because i'm too scared. My heart races and my legs and whole body starts to constantly shake all the time. I seriously need help! :(
This is a serious thread. Please anyone decent at soccer/football help me? Please. I've become so shit i'm not even close to a decent player.
EDIT: When I do get the chance to hit the ball I either get nervous and hit it too light and keep missing the ball or I smash it and get it out or the height is too high to cause the other team to get a free kick. I ALSO FLINCH AND CLOSE MY EYES LIKE SO MUCH NOW!

1 ReplyI've had the same problem I got hit in the face pretty hard with the ball as well and whenever it comes towards me I flinch or close my eyes because I'm scared. I stopped playing after sometime my injuries were building up to the point I could only run at full speed for a few seconds until the injuries suddenly flare up. I don't know how not to be afraid of the ball but to improve passing find someone you know and pass the ball between the two of u. Then when u get good at that get more people. U could even try kicking the ball at a target. Tackling is something like with passing, find someone who is willing to help u and practice trying to take the ball from them. That is all I have but good luck.
