I hate the portal. I hate challenge modifiers and power deltas on anything other than raids and nightfall. I hate how unbalanced the game is: it's either pulling teeth or so easy it's unengaging, depending on your build. I hate ability spam. I hate that primaries are useless. I hate the half assed content. I find every aspect of end game pve to be insufferable.
I love pvp, but everyone is so pissed off now. All the time. The community is so toxic I can't play for long. Couple of crucible games every now and then but I'm not interested in the direction the game is going in. I'm not buying the next expansion (I've gotten them all since d1 dark below)
I think I'm done.

It’s just a game. Just have fun with it and don’t take it to seriously. There are moments of frustration but just know that it’s a game

no, no Think, you just told us you're not Stay with the love, just don't "TRY" anymore

2 RepliesCool, thanks for sharing. What games do you enjoy? Do they have forums? If so, do you post there saying how much you enjoy the game? Or do you just post on forums for games you don't enjoy? Just asking cause I don't understand why people that don't enjoy the game as much as they claim still post on the forums. The day I stop enjoying the game, I'm gone from here.

So many other games out there, no need to feel like you're in a monogamous relationship with this one.

Kind of in the same boat lately. For PvE the sandbox is terribly unbalanced. A few builds makes most activities a breeze, while the rest are terribly inconsistent. So you end up running a hand full of the same build through the same content. Build diversity is one of the few thing that can breathe some fresh air into the game during « in between » content release. It incentivizes simply grinding material and gear, but right now you could be wearing boxer and a bandanna as long as you have Praxic you’re good

4 RepliesEdited by kime: 1/27/2026 6:04:16 AMThe game is getting worse and worse every season for a long time now, and they managed to alienate most of their player base in the process. And they think we'll just buy their Marathon after the mess they done with the Destiny 2??

Welcome to the club . Nearly 90% of the players that got edge of fate agree with you.

Edited by NextGenGenesis: 1/30/2026 6:50:34 PMI feel exactly the same way don't worry, can't say I'll be following bungie to marathon either, they can't be trusted

12 RepliesI just got Renegades on discount. It’s the last DLC I’ll buy. It’s the end of an era. Marathon up next

I remember a time where I would hard focus destiny. And then FFXIV came into my life. Then monster hunter. And so on.

Yeah, the portal could have been great if it complimented the director but all it does is overshadow it and make the director pointless. As for PvP, correct, everyone’s so angry and salty. I can’t even use my dance emotes without people angrily messaging thinking I’m dancing on their body mid match 😂

Do what you need to. Play whatever amount of time works for you. I can't play D2 in good conscience right now. D1, somewhat. You should want to replay the game because it's fun. Not replay the game in order to HAVE fun. If that can come back, then players will too.
-
I did that since final shape. Hey bungie wants money to keep everyone employed make content, balance upgrade the damn servers If not eat it

1 ReplyWhilst I haven't played for over 3 weeks now, I still maintain that Destiny has the best combat loop of any FPS. Ever. Both 1 & 2. Reasons to play the game have fallen off for me. It feels like the game is narrowing into specialising on higher tier & endgame activities whilst forgoing low & mid tier content. The new dungeon challenge being a good example. Many new changes have not landed well & there's been a lot of walkback on decisions in regard to power, levelling & balance. My biggest disappointment is the lore & world building. I think this peaked with Savathun & Witch Queen and since then, there's been a drop in cohesion & quality. Hopefully that is resolved & I will happily eat my helm 😉😆 Still.. Destiny is right there on my Xbox & I'll always be greatful for the time spent in both games. I certainly got my £££s worth 👍

Try arc raiders

Yeah, I'm finding it easier and easier to put the game down now. I mainly play pvp and can sometimes get through a good number of games in one session, but when the matchmaking starts actively working against me, or I find myself swearing too much, I stop playing.
-
The thing with most players or destiny players, they only play destiny. Which is ok, for them, but you have no idea how much you're missing out. They need to be able to let destiny go and take a breather and go play something else. I just never understood how someone can just play 1 game and only 1 game. It'll get boring super fast if it was me. I almost play everything, like resident evil, silent hill, hell is us, dc universe online, and any free ps+ games that interests me. And if it means to put a game like destiny or another heavy grinding game or mmo down, to play that game, i would. I never feel like "shoot, I should have logged in this week." For ex. New RE game coming in Feb, I'll be focusing on that, and even if destiny had some cool weapon or event. It just won't bother me.

I’m stepping further and further away from the game at the moment. PvP is absolutely awful. No two ways about it. From connections to matchmaking, from overpowered weapons to shadow nerfs, m&k “enhancements” on console (bit of a Voldemort thing to say in this forum apparently), it’s all bad. I play against people who have more kills on their special weapon than I have PvP kills altogether. How long do you think I’m gonna stick with it? PvE is in a way worse. Everything feels trite and pointless. You can’t really choose much. You are restricted in your choice of weapons and loadouts with the millions of mods, surges, anti-surges and whatnot. And I don’t grind anymore. It’s not worth it. Sure, I would like to have this or that but the time invested is not worth it. Horrible RNG and they nerf it 5 seconds after I get it anyway. So not much incentive altogether. But please note that life goes on even if you don’t play. Or maybe more so.

There's definitely an echo in here. I don't blame you for leaving . I only play what I want now, despite whatever carrot 🥕 is available . I can have fun without Bungie complicating things

Edited by gta5igrac: 1/27/2026 11:56:32 PMyeah, i also enjoy raids but the requirement for the epic raid killed it for me. the requirement for perfection is too much. would have been better if the mechanics was revamped to e similar but different instead of puttin like 5 new mechanics on top of existing ones. tbh without raids and dungeons this game would have been long dead.

lol you absolute hypocrite 🙄😂

Edited by Dooodley: 1/27/2026 10:26:12 PMYeah this game is done and it's no one but Bungie's own fault. They gone out of their way to kill the game. Just look at who's playing the game at the moment. Whenever - the few times - I use matchmaking I get nothing but < 550 rank 3-4 players. They're either casuals or new - and I dont believe they're new. That's when Bungie - as the only new thing - adds a solo WR run with heavy weapon restrictions. Who's it for? Is it for YT engagement? The YT'ers didnt ask for it either but they're the only ones who potentially could get anything out of it. We've done nothing but complaining about the Portal since it's inception and nothing has been done. NOTHING. It's for no one and that's the only thing you reasonable can do as a daily activity. And who the hell is using bows? There's that one known bow user in every group and community for the simple reason that no one els is using them. The same could be said for glaves - albeit perhaps to a lesser degree. What does Bungie do? Adds an "event" - and I'm using "event" very loosely here - focused on nothing but glaives and bows. They have the data!!!!!!!! It's ridiculous.

2 RepliesOpening up the modifier screen for a portal activity is the worst. The definition of something that sounds good (picking your own modifiers), but just doesn't work. Going through all the sub menus for player stakes, banes, etc. is so painful.
