I've been casually browsing this subreddit and the forum to see how the game is going. I heard that people aren't happy with Edge of Fate, and Steam chart isn't showing a good player base trend compared to pre-FS.
I kind of miss this game and want to see if it's a good idea to get back into it as a casual experience. I'd appreciate it if the community could answer a few general questions about the state of the game. You guys don't have to answer all the questions.
ELI5: What is the portal? I've seen videos about it, and it looks like NFs from the year of the Forsaken expansion. It's a mode where guardians can apply modifiers to increase their score?
How's the loot grind/gameplay loop? Where does the best loot come from?
How is old gear being treated? Is there a penalty for using out-of-season weapons during seasonal content?
How has the social experience been for you?
What have been the best and the worst changes you have had since the changes from Edge of Fate?

Campaign is ok ,lightsaber is awsome but will prob be nerfed due to the same top % players getting bored, after the campaign the cracks start to show , were back to haveing joe blackburns broken overloads champs in endgame content if that helps ,lastly the new seasonal activity rewards less brightdust and will have you more stressed than trials trying to get flawless if you play the invasion playlist 😆
