Get away from the ADU
If a tormenter spawns stop hiding behind the ADU, you're just make the tormenter attack it. If you run away from it while shooting the tormenter it will follow you, so instead of leading in to the ADU lead it away.

For real! And the amount of players hugging the ADU like a comfort blanket while the timers on 2 mines tick down… pfff Might as well go detonate it yourself, you sparkly space fart. Ugh. Gotta remind myself that casuals play this game too. (And nowhere is that more apparent than match-made content) Just ironic when you see a FTF post with the tags “Farming”, “Fast”, “Experience Requested”, and the player who made it is the type that continues to shoot at a barrier champs shield without a modded weapon on You know the type…the wheel is turning, but the hamster is dead.

1 ReplyHaving one person on the tormentor helps (and lead away) as the other 2 can make sure the rounds done... the adds will stop spawning and the tormentor can be dealt with properly (if not already). Having people blast through spawns works well for 4/5 of it... but last set involves a lot of teleporting adds; roaming supers are fine, but caution needed. I've failed a few 40's by tethering spawn but they all move on top of the adu; had I waited then I could have tethered everything. Defense upgrades is an interesting situation; horses for courses!

5 RepliesA lot of casual players like to stand right by the adu rather than attack the enemy spawn. I've also noticed they tend to not buy upgrades or defense. It's gotten so bad, that if I join a match and see my teammates do these things, I just quit rather than waist my time since we will wipe after a round or 2.

5 RepliesA lot of players in this community has never played a defense game before. So many randoms that i have played with, won't buy any defenses or even upgrade them, they also won't heal ADU or come to its aid when it is under attack. It also doesn't help that a lot of players also doesn't know what the different symbols in this game means. So when high priority target spawns in and attack ADU with orbital attacks, they will just go around and kill smaller ads instead.

2 RepliesSo are you supposed to abandon the adu? Being serious here(have to say that on these forums). I played a bit yesterday and camped the adu every game. My understanding was that I had to defend it. So as far as strategies go is it better to run and smash spawns? I will say that's what my team was doing while I cleaned the stragglers that made it through to the adu. We made it to 34(my highest game) and the other 2 guys were all over the place and I died trying to clear the mob at the adu and it got destroyed. I'm no expert on a week old game mode that I played for 2 hours Sunday, so can you good ole Guardians give me the basic fundamentals for onslaught as far as the best strategy. Ps- I upgraded decoys almost exclusively cause the cannons seemed to not do anything.

The first thing everyone should do in onslaught is try to get at least 1 decoy maxed at each point.

8 RepliesTowards the later rounds it is really important to have upgraded decoys. I hate it when I am the only one healing the adu. I can tell it usually means a fail in the 20-30 round. It is a mixed bag though. My first run I got to 50, it wasn’t that hard. I have had runs where we lasted 2-5 waves. Some people just run by the orbs. The easiest runs I have had have been where we didn’t miss an orb. When you bank them all you can upgrade turrets and decoys, makes a huge difference. Once your in the 40s starting a round with a super can make a huge difference. I have seen wipes because we all used our supers late in the previous boss fight and had no heavy.

Agreed. Lost a 50 run on the last round because of this. If you're not right at their spawn, you're playing it wrong

Thats great and all but tell it to your fireteam. Lot of people have “returned” for this content and they’re not the brightest bulbs in the bunch. In fact some of these bulbs are straight up drooling around in Onslaught. Just running around grabbing balls only doing absolutely nothing for the team. Its why I make Fireteam Finders and kick them when theyre doing their 10 IQ plays And I did put “experience requested” so thats on them.
