Oh come on... Stop with the "thank you"/"It's all lies" posts. Sheesh.

Bungie/Joe haven't DONE anything other than the thing that pissed people off in the first place. So there is NOTHING to thank them for. Not even the response. As a consumer, who voiced a grievance about the product you purchased, the LEAST they can do to retain you as a customer is to address your complaints. So yeah, no thank you necessary. Thank them when they don't do -blam!- like the SOTG. Not after they "apologize" for it. Additionally, give the "this is all corporate BS" a rest. 100% guarantee that Mr. Blackburn is sincere. 100% believe they know they went too far in terms of ignoring their customers. And without question, they will in fact make all of the changes presented in the vlog. Like people point out all of the time on the boards. The people who are actually doing the work, care about their creation just as much, if not more, than the community. They work hard, have families, and WANT the game to be good. But they, like most of us, work for someone else, and don't always get to do what they want to do. As I posted before, we all know what Destiny is, and what it is not. The new and shiny will have me logging in again for a while. But I have accepted what this and all other games are in 2023, a means to an ends. Money is needed to make them, thus it will always outweigh "vision" or innovation. So I stopped playing games looking for any of that. I work long hours, I have a ridiculously full and busy life outside of work, and I also have a family. Gaming, for all of my life has been "me" time. Where I get to unwind before I hit the sack. And that's pretty much all it needs to be. The showcase will be what it was last time. The changes WILL improve the game, and this time next year we will in fact be pissed off about something else. And that's ok. I think Fallout said it best, let's just keep telling developers what they aren't delivering on, be forthright and as respectful as the developers are to us. But the extremes, "OMG you are amazing Bungie" and the "OMG you are terrible Bungie" servers no one. How about we focus the conversation on how what they said can be improved upon so that maybe we don't end up here again. Cheers!

These people that make these thank u bungie, have not played since Destiny 1 and until now. Atm i am at 8 270h Playtime( easy 12 hours daily),but lately ive grown tierd of all these lies from bungie, and played other games,i got to admit that it feels good. And this joe shitburn sotg is just panic and to manipulate people, guess they figured it out that it may affect theyr other games like marathon, personaly i hope marathon fails, they kinda deserve it. They have proven time after time that they dont care about the player base.

    • The problem is they are still, after all these years, reactionary. Instead of doing this stuff all along because they think the game will be better, they do it when the whole internet calls them greedy and lazy. They repeat the same thing over and over. It's exhausting that the ONLY time they seem to care about the players is when they're backed into a corner.

Destiny players can't decide on what emotions they want to feel. A week ago everyone was at Bungie's throat and now this week everyone is all "Bungie can do no wrong". I don't understand this community at all.

        • Morality and principles has been lost in gaming development ever since games started making season passes. They don't want to admit that they have the same moral compass as drug dealers, not caring about the wellbeing of there customers and trying to get us hooked to their product and invest time and money so its hard to put it down cuz of the anxiety and stress of missing out on good stuff like a heroin addict trying to find his next good hit and hoping that hr won't miss out on something good cuz the dealer lies and days its hood stuff. I use this metaphor because I was a heroin addict and slowly getting of by playing games, but the anxiety and stress of grinding and getting item rewards from triump

hs so I get my moneys worth before it dissapears, I ended up using note heroin to feel with those emotions. Granted my situation in life didn't help but there manipulation and methods of making a game to addict people rather then to enjoy didn't help.
I think Fallout said it best, let's just keep telling developers what they aren't delivering on.
This only works with a developer that is willing to pay attention and put the resources into their game, not just one that says they are and ignores what's being said. I mean, they just told you guys ("they don't have the resources".) yet 5 years later "Hey, we're going to put a team on PvP, make sure you pre-order. So WTH is it, either you do or you don't have the resources. (((stop the lying Bungie.))) This is why I don't believe a damn word they say, I can't stand people that constantly lie to try to get what they want. The changes that are said to be taking place aren't the problem. The problem is, WTH did it take almost 5 years to come up with some of these changes, what's worse is knowing how easy it is for this business to manipulate a lot of you into pre-ordering.

          • It’s all for show. It has always been for show. A PR plugging. They want your money. That’s what it’s all about. They’re putting out a DLC and they want to see preorders. That’s it. It’s laughable effort more than ever! What a move! I can’t stop laughing about it! They put out a State of the game (SOTG) a couple weeks ago. Now this?… Bwahahahahahaha!!! It’s time to milk the cows, and they’re getting ready for it. Bwahahahahahaha!!! You know what’s funnier?… The cows are lining-up to get milked! Bwahahahahahaha!!! There’s one born every minute. Don’t be one! One more thing, this is a company running a business. They are not your friends. They only want your money. That’s it. Once they milk it, they can do whatever they want. Again, WHATEVER THEY WANT! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Like I said, there is one born every minute. Don’t be one! Bwahahahahahaha!!! Welcome to hollowness!

Oh no players are thanking the game director for a genuine and straight up response. We can’t have that on the forums. So this is better lol. You’re totally right about things in general but it’s ok to be civil and thank people for listening.

              • Sorry, too little too late for me. It is only polite to thank him for taking the time to make that response imo. And you are correct that they care about their game to a degree. But to quote “what has happened before will happen again, what has been done before will be done again”. Once again Bungie “address” players concerns right about pre-order time and promise the world - but always using those key words - in the future! As for them needing to make money? They make loads of money but never deliver time and again. Have uninstalled this season, but watch the forums with hope.

              • I agree with the hyperbole fatigue. I don’t agree with the willingness to be satisfied by mediocre discursive content and repetition with no variation. That’s not how good or new ideas ever emerge. You don’t make Halo by aiming merely to please or by only engaging with the immediacy of what players supposedly want from a game.

It's not lies... It's back pedaling and marketing... They give, because they want! map packs and changes for you, for you, and for you, not you Gambit you get nothing and like it, now buy the DLC.. Just when you think you are out, they drag you back in.. It's just smart business

They work hard, have families, and WANT the game to be good
They did this Multiple times, one to many. Its a Rinse and Repeat. This is proof of their Train Station analogy, as its "Trust, something, Revenue" They want to do as little as possible to Re gain Trust. A Free Map Pack and a Free Eververse Set is not it. Its Nice, but not it. They want the Trust back because the Distrust is hurting their Revenue.
How about we focus the conversation on how what they said can be improved upon so that maybe we don't end up here again.
We got here because Bungie got us here. With the Thousands of Thousands of "This isnt Working Revert" or " This was a Terrible idea, Revert" its was all ignored Intentionally. Bungie allowed the Game to get where it is at, and Yes the Community didnt help with this either as they are the ones who Payed for C$$$, and got C$$$. This is Coporate 101 of "Apologize" before a big Release.

                  • The apologetic and forgetful posts are huge copium. I agree with the post above, however, stating that we also can’t just blast bungie. Promises have been made, so we will need to at least see what they have planned. Can’t let up the pressure, because empty promises have been made and kept before, but at least some expectations have been made.

                    • I agree. Actions speak louder than words. There have been years of actions that culminated in the players', i.e. customers', current frustration and a 15-minute apology video SHOULD NOT be enough to wash all that away.

The most important part of the video has to do with live service changes after the 'Funnel Shape'. What that means to me is that for some time to come there won't be anymore dlcs, and we will be accessing Destiny in a different way. Maybe rotating current dlcs some that are vaulted will be brought back now that Cayde is back maybe Forsaken and the riff will be back as well. We will probably pay a sub, a yearly or a monthly sub and you get to play all the dlc. They will use some jujitsu move to completely negate the fact that people have already bought those dlcs. Some missions from Zavala (in the place of seasonal content we get now) telling us to check on the scorn or hive because....why not.... some refurbished loot on top and voila. In this way they get to make yearly dlc money by not producing any dlc or season. All of this means that 80% of devs currently handling destiny will be moved to other greener pastures Marathon and other projects, Destiny will be run by a skeleton crew handling pvp mostly, that's what the 'we will be building a pvp team means to me'. Every time you hear things like this, think the opposite. Another point to make about the video. Bungie always sells the idea of the game, the game itself is always very different, except for Forsaken. They always prepare the groundwork for the showcase and eventual preorders, by the time disappointment sets in, it can not hurt sales by much. Again all of it is pure speculation on my part, and i do appreciate Joe's video. I haven't played all year, and i do admit the video did get me thinking to log in and do some chores, but then i thought yeah.. naaaah..maybe some day who knows.
