So hear me out. Imagine if you loaded into an elimination match on widows court. As you’re in the loading screen, you suddenly hear Shaxx’s booming voice say, “Heads up guardians, there’s a snowstorm coming in, so visibility will be reduced, be careful.” As you spawn in, you see a massive snowstorm covering the entire map, with a blizzard also going on, barely allowing you to see 10 ft in front of you and making it difficult to spot your enemy from far away. Certain areas are just covered in snow, providing more hiding spots. Or maybe you load into Titan, and a thunderstorm is going on, making it difficult to hear, or even loading into the burning shrine in total darkness due to a simulated eclipse. This could really spice up crucible matches, but you could leave it out of Trials to keep it fair.

Yeah, no...
-
Dynamic weather was a stupid addition to this game, to begin with...
-
Edited by kruze: 11/10/2022 6:09:01 PMNo, knowing bungie, some in-game snow is going to start freezing us like OG cold snaps.

Dynamic elements that affect players including visuals and sound would be great. Wind storm, rain, sun, moonlight, deep shadows, snow, sandstorms, lightning, thunder, wind whistles etc. I would be happy is night and day were more noticeable. The issues are simplifying the software to make it work, consistency between players, and rendering platform. Getting it correct in PvE first should be a priority. Current dynamic rendering engine is very inconsistent. PvP should be last to receive the updates.

It's an interesting concept for a brand new gamemode, but I couldn't see them putting this in the current gamemodes.

1 ReplyAlready have it
-
4 RepliesBeyond Light introduced a dynamic weather aspect on Europa, cool but not great IMO
-
5 RepliesAm up for throwing an overload taken ogre into crucible and you can’t have mods equipped.. imagine on twilight gap and your killing Someone then a killer ogre just pops up behind you and wipes your whole team 🙏🏼🤣 Also after every 50points scored another champion spawns, you can either take timeout of killing the enemy to team shoot the champion or just let it roam to kill indiscriminately 👌

NO. Because It’s always sunny in Philadelphia
-
Yeah and make it slow us down and be super annoying
-
2 RepliesSpice up? Yay lets reduce visibility, great idea. Cause invis Hunters aren't cancer enough right now.... Hard f'ing no on this one. Use your brain, Guardian.

4 RepliesEdited by Asylum: 11/8/2022 4:51:57 PMNo, please just no. Excluding the fact that bungie sucks at detail to that level and it woukd just be a grayed out screen, the engine isnt strong enough to handle it. Games running on the same engine Halo was built on which is why they had to do the DCV. To much stuff bogging the engine down. All dynamic weather would do is cause more problems and even worde visibility, no thanks.

3 Replies…what could possibly be eclipsing the sun from mercury, lol
-
As cool as it sounds, imagine dealing with lag during a snowstorm
-
3 RepliesThey attempted this on Europa and I gotta say I’m not a fan of the whiteout. Didn’t use to be raining on Titan?
-
1 ReplyI am pro this idea but sadly it’ll never happen. Besides people complain enough already with how PvP operates. Maybe a weekly gamemode like scorched but called snowstorm for earth maps and other weathers(or general changes) for other maps. I’d like to see a game mode that is just control however whenever you captured a zone all who were on that zone gain a tiny hive moth that would operate just like it would in PvE but for PvP. A small change but would be fun.
-
Hell yeah. This game needs spicing up. Snow storms, rain, lightening, hurricanes, would be so fun!
-
Blindfold mode Where the screen is completely black with only the radar visible Would be very entertaining.....to read the complaints about it
-
Man I miss Battlefield 4. :(
-
Sure, but after all the other stuffs fixed
-
No thanks, crucible is a 💩show as it is already, no need to make it even worse🤣
-
Battlefield has it, and to add it now would kind of feel like a copied idea, but that didn't stop Call of Duty from having BF style game modes (and doing them better than DICE), so yeah why not?
-
Nah man, hurts frames and PC players who disable high graphics won't even experience the downside
-
A lot of weapons outline enemies when to ADS. Visibility isn't really a problem. Like at Europa.
-
I feel like adding annoying things to an experience people already don’t enjoy would be a really spicy change.

1 ReplyThe engine this game uses can barely handle sunspots.
