Eh. I've just been grinding Generation Zero. Nothing to do here, and at the rate bungo is going with beating around the warlock bush, I don't see myself coming back for any reason anytime soon. If they ever stop bastardizing warlocks, maybe.

At some point... no one really cares. People in this forum, like me too, are a minority, and as much as we want a different Destiny (2), we can only dream of. Since Beyond Light, the game is on life support, more dead than alive. There's a lot of people out there who accept that, they don't think about it, they want to consume, nothing else. Which is nothing bad, they just have their distance and those are the people who keep Bungie alive, millions; not the few hundred in here. Destiny (2) is became very rationalized, every aspect of the game is streamlined and recycled, which is from a economically perspective brilliant, because it drastically reduced the workload. I don't admire that economy, I think it's heartless (especially from a design perspective), but Bungie is successful with their agenda, what gives them right. It will continue like that, next year, same model. Of course, there will be a few quality of life adjustments, but I don't expect something groundbreaking. I'm not angry, I made my peace with it (finally). It's just a game, and I can end it whenever I want - but that's the only available ending.

I am not convinced Destiny 3 isn't closer than we think. Seems weird for Sony to spend all that money on this 10 year old game and that it feels like almost no one is actually developing for Destiny 2 right now with how copy/paste everything is. I mean the amount of copy/paste in this game is astounding at this point. Even the "new" content is literally just a reskin of existing stuff if you know what you're looking at.

It can never evolve when the hardware/software of the franchise is 100 years old.

I don't want a D3. I don't want to grind for a third time Thorn, Ghally, etc. I do not want to have to start from scratch. Again. BUT I think it is time for them to rebuild D2 so there is clean code instead of the spaghetti code we currently have. Using clean, efficient code, they could bring back everything they shoved in the DCV.

They are milking this sucker till the wheels fall off. New Lights, people who by EVERYTHING they offer, why would they stop? Would you get up and walk away from a slot machine that keeps rolling 7-7-7? 😆 Sad thing is, they know it too. Just don't care. Somewhere along the way, they got very greedy. And just stopped caring.

No, it doesnt need a new game, the franchise just needs to end. Bungie have proven themselves 100% incapable of managing this game. The refused to do dedicated servers and a new engine, they refuse to make any meaningful changes. Theyve proven themselves completely incapable when it comes to coding, balancing, and optimization, the game still runs basically as poorly as it did day 1. The franchise just needs to end, bungie simply cant handle a game of this caliber. High Moon and Vicarious Vision were the only ones capable tbh, the only time this game has ever felt stable was whenever something they worked on was current, everything bungie has done since going back solo has been horrible even at the best of times. Bungie simply cant handle anything outside the simplicity of halo alone.

You actually need a new developer for what you are asking. One that isn't milking their player base just to fund their other projects. Bungie is over this game, they want out of it and they have literally put it right in front of all of your faces but a lot of you refuse to see it. They'll do just enough to keep you around until Matter launches which is planned to launch in 2025. Think about it, what are they really going to offer with this next expansion other them the norm, the same basic content you have been getting since Activision left that isn't really anything to brag about when you know what 90% of the content is going to be before it launches/? And that's not including the same boring uncreative, uninspiring unmotivated process that hasn't improve the experience playing the game for 3 years now and yet to come. The game went from Forsaken to where anyone could see the effort that was put into it to move the game forward that was the only decent expansion out of the entire time D2 has been running and not because of the amount of content that some have this illusion that quantity matters over quality. Now we have these cheap lazy throwaway seasons that offer nothing to show for it. Bungie's basic minimal work designing dead destinations. We have gone back into the days when the model was selling map packs but instead selling dungeons that most of the player base won't even touch. "F2P" that is false advertisement so they could have f2p shop prices. Monetization has tripled since Activision left. The grind has tripled since Activision left. Just about everything in this game is based on their rigged "RNG" D2 is dead, not when it comes to Bungie making money that's for sure, or its player base, but the concept of what the original Bungie wanted that this Bungie destroyed for the sake of a buck, and if this is how they treat their player base/game as of now, I'm afraid how bad things will actually be when Matter launches knowing the mobile gaming business backing them up and how they worked their way onto the board having a say on what takes place.

No we don't. We finally got weapon crafting and now we are getting in game LFG. Destiny 2 still has room to grow.

Play the content that's actually fun and that you enjoy. Once the game becomes a grind, stop playing. If you want something to grind. Grind real life. If you want something fun to play. Play another game. Stop dedicated a ton of time to Destiny 2 and getting mad about it. It's not worth your time, and you'll start feeling a lot better once you stop.
