I was just curious to see what other people thought of this. I have not really played hunter in destiny 2 because I mostly played Bladedancer in Destiny 1. I loved that speedy, blink-stabbing hunter fantasy (loved blink, fast twitch, hungering blade, and sealed ahamkara grasps) and arcstrider just really has not done it for me. I think it is REALLY weird that arc hunter punches because I think it is more of a titan thing. It feels like it goes against the rest of the hunter aesthetic of using weapons, tools, traps, etc to beat your opponents. I think I get that it is supposed to be some martial arts subclass, but personally, I would like to see combination blow and disorienting blow be some kind of knife/staff/nunchaku melee. I think it would make the aesthetic of arcstrider much cooler and more consistent with the hunter theme. What are your thoughts?

Then other classes could use different animations on different subclasses too. It’s a nice touch.

Nope... An electric staff / spear of doom would be fitting🤔

1 ReplyNo. Give us a BRAND NEW Arc melee please. More variety. Different classes should do different things. Warlock snap and shield throwing were good ideas. Keep up with that.
-
No thanks. Normal melee is much better than knife melee. Also the arc punch is tipped with arc energy. Same as the sharp edge of liars handshake. Why use a knife when the arc energy is sharper.

1 ReplyFrom what I noticed, each 3.0 subclasses doesn’t have any normal melees. They’re all ranged melees (and shoulder charges in the case if titans). So it’s possible.

Monk punch is much more satisfying.

1 ReplyWould like to see a different arc super option. No other class has a single type of super

A knife that would emit an arc charge when thrown would be epic. The knife would have a fast velocity, and when it hits someone, it has a chance to chain it's damage everywhere. But the knife would be weaker. Body hit - 60dmg Head hit - 100dmg Chain damage: 50dmg

They should blink strike back that -blam!- was so cool.

3 RepliesI hope we get QuickDraw back from D1 and a rangers super. I also hope for blink but know that’s pushing it.

I think it's because Arcstrider is supposed to invoke a Monk-style aesthetic between the Super and melee animations
