A few years back many rejoiced when Bungie got rid of Activision, myself included. One of the reasons they said they did is because Activision wanted to every couple of years put out a Destiny 3, 4 and so on.
Bungie said they felt it would be wrong to make people work hard for items just to take them away, and expect you to dish out a bunch of cash just to have to work at getting them back again. Fast-forward to now the season of the haunted and 2/5 of the new weapons we once had, and only way to get them back is to dish out more cash. Congratulations Bungie on becoming Activision.
Here's your feedback. Stop being hypocrites.

32 RepliesGood one lol. "Bungie boots Activision". Did anyone actually believe that? Activision ditched Bungie. It was the other way around. Activision threw away dead weight.

3 RepliesEdited by MattTheBelieber: 5/30/2022 3:32:56 AMA) Bungie never booted Activision. B) Activision ran from Bungie. C) Don't believe me just Google the article about Activision calling out Bungie for disappointment and poor sales on their investor call and look at the date, just before the breakup. Or Google Activision/Bungie court documents and clearly in the real documents Activision released Bungie from obligations aka they initiated a split and laid out that legally Bungie owes them no money moving forward. Activision was raining in money from Overwatch, Call of Duty, and more and when they got the reports of how bad a major DLCs sales were they decided Destiny isn't worth their time. Rightfully. Bungie bragged about 1 million Witch Queen sales. That is HORRIBLE for a AAA game. Less than $100 million. Divide that into 1000 employees and you get $100,000 each employee. But entry level coders in a place such as Bellevue make about that yearly, nevermind advertising costs, building maintenance, their expensive computers and equipment, execs making more salary than that, Microsoft/Sony/Steam getting a massive amount of that less than $100 million as middle men. There is nothing after Final Shape, except Matter. Bungie thinks that Matter will be fine even though Destiny has had 137 million people try D1 or D2 and now can barely pull 1.4 mill logins. Do the math on what percentage of people played/tried Destiny, quit, and refuse to return. Hint, it is above 99%. Bungie has an ego to this day "we are the creators of Halo and we are the -blam!- and people will buy our products regardless the fact no one is buying our products".

8 RepliesBungie didn't boot Activision lmao Activision threw them out, which is why Bungie scrambled and ran to China for money, because no western publisher wants anything to do with Bungies scam.

Bungie said they felt it would be wrong to make people work hard for items just to take them away, and expect you to dish out a bunch of cash just to have to work at getting them back again.
The thing about that is that it has been this way since D1, at least the regrinding for the things they took away for the most part.
A few years back many rejoiced when Bungie got rid of Activision
Yeah, I remember this, on how a few players were running around on this forum stressing how "the game was going to get so much better now that Bungie is on their own". Then in came the lies... "Activision was holding Bungie back" "Activision is the cause of monetization" "Activision is why the game is in a poor state" "Activision is controlling everything Bungie does" The list is huge of things these players were blaming Activision for when it was actually Bungie the entire time misleading the players. No, I don't like Activision, but Activision is the one that saved this game providing the studios because Luke Smith and the higher-ups almost lost the entire player base when D2 launched. Activation got this game in a good place with the help of those studios with Forsaken. it is literally the only time D2 was ever in a good place in spite of anyone's opinion about either company. After Activision dropped Bungie reality set in, and everyone, even the Bungie defenders could see the actual problem with the game whether they admit it or not.
Bungie has always been the actual problem.
3 RepliesWhere are the the community managers? Oh that's right, I saw dmg laughing at a telesto meme on Twitter that was talking about the gunsmith bug. 🙄 Bungie have checked out, they are keeping this game on life support while they focus on the new IP.

1 ReplyBungie didn't boot Activision. Activision got rid of Bungie.

They only whine about the schedule after they failed to meet it, repeatedly, and had to take cuts in the revenue sharing. They were all for it when they thought they were hot stuff and could pull it off. The original timeline for games and dlc is out there. Then some enlightened boss decided to scrap the og game and it’s all been a clown show since.

7 RepliesBungie never "booted" Activision. Activision bailed cause of how poor Destiny's sales truly are.

5 RepliesEdited by InTheZone: 5/28/2022 10:27:49 PMjust like how they don't allow discussion on their own forums for certain things, but talk about it freely in twabs or twitter and they'll ban you for even bringing it up to bring valuable discussion

10 RepliesWe needed a Destiny 3 with common game features of other 2022 games. An 12900kf and 3080 ti should get 200+fps at 1440p in all aspects of the game.

It's called milking for a reason.

2 RepliesGreedier every season and thinks no one notices… miss activision and the actual updates we used to get to “core” playlists

Edited by Yander-7: 5/28/2022 8:39:56 PMTheir current design philosophy is "half-effort some seasons while we focus on making 1-2 seasons of the year really good". They benefit from this more than anything, because any time anything good comes out of destiny, it blows up again for 15 more minutes of fame.

8 RepliesThis is not a FTP game. Like most MMOs, this game gives away the core game, then charges for new content on the pve side. I get your frustration, but in games like this the new gear is going to cost money. Because that is how the game makes it’s money, and why hundreds of people make this game for a living. No one lied to you. You just have a situation you don’t like.

4 RepliesDestiny 3 would've been a better alternative to drip fed content But no, we can't have nice things.

Edited by MirageScythe: 5/28/2022 2:04:30 PMNah activision watched the crap show that bungie created with streamer events and said NOPE IM OUT ! That was the black armory event for those that dont know .

They got dropped.

It would of happened regardless . Video game companies are catching on how easy it is to make money from us . Anyways been this way for a while . You have a choice .

Bungie hasn’t changed.

Yep. Great analogy. I was thinking the exact same thing.

It was ATVIs decision to cut the chord with Bungie. At the time ATVI had 3 billion dollar franchises. Destiny being one of them. (Candy Crush and COD being the others) They decided that long term Bungie-Destiny wasn’t going to provide the ROI compared to their other games.

1 ReplyEdited by FL00FING AB0UT: 5/27/2022 7:11:14 PMPeople making these comments, while albeit justified, are only within their own view. Destiny 2 has been around 17 seasons, but a LARGE portion of players joined after season 1. Many of those players have NEVER had this gear before. To them it’s new. Yes, to players like myself and others who have been around the whole time, it’s not “new” to us. But not everything is for everyone at all times. Despite it not being “new,” usually the weapons roll with different perks upon re-introduction. Considering a 140 hand cannon is a 140 hand cannon no matter what it’s name is, even if it’s named something we already know, it’s not truly 1:1 if it can have different forms. At that point, you’re really getting angry it just doesn’t look unique or isn’t named something unique because performance-wise, it’s exactly the same as all the other weapons in that same archetype. Tl;Dr New players haven’t had them yet and even if re-issued gear looked different and was named something else, if it walks like a duck…etc.
