You name your game free to play yet everything cool is still behind pay walls...honestly Bungie I understand money but release DLCs going away completely, not behind some pay wall. Example: Forsaken I can't do the raids and Dungeons I want as parts of my team require the forsaken pack which costs money when you said Forsaken is free to play. By those words all of it should be free!!. The same thing for Shadowkeep after Witch Queen is halfway through its year. Also Vault Nessus, that location needs to go it is a waste of space... We literally have no reason other than Proving Grounds to go there.

Edited by SARS-COV-2 B.1.617.2: 2/12/2022 7:55:28 PMBungie's business model is still consistent with the definition of "Free to Play." Not everything is free in a Free to Play game. It's more like a trial to get people interested in purchasing additional expansions. https://www.techopedia.com/definition/27039/free-to-play-f2p
Free to play (F2P) refers to a business model for online games in which the game designers do not charge the user or player in order to join the game. Instead, they hope to bring in revenue from advertisements or in-game sales, such as payment for upgrades, special abilities, special items, and expansion packs.
https://www.definitions.net/definition/free-to-play
Free-to-play refers to any video game or social or mobile application that has the option of allowing its players/users to play/download without paying. The model was first popularly used in early massively multiplayer online games targeted towards casual gamers, before finding wider adoption among games released by major video game publishers to combat video game piracy and high system requirements. Since games using the concept are available at no cost to players, they use other means to gather revenue, such as charging money for certain in-game items or integrating advertisements into the game. Free-to-play can be contrasted with pay-to-play, in which payment is required before using a service. Pay-to-play games usually offer equal gaming experience for all players while free-to-play games give advantage to premium players. Free-to-play games are similar to freemium, a more general term and a business model in which a product is offered free of charge while a micropayment is charged for users to access premium features and virtual goods. Shareware by contrast typically only offers a portion of the game, such as Id Software's first-episode shareware versions of many of their early first-person shooters. If there is no charge payable for any feature in a game, it's known as freeware.
https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/free-to-play
Relating to or denoting an arrangement in which basic access to a game is granted without charge while more advanced features must be paid for.
https://www.cyberdefinitions.com/definitions/F2P.html
F2P is an abbreviation used in online gaming with the meaning "Free To Play." F2P games do not require users to pay to participate. However, F2P players are typically only allowed access to very basic features of the game. Upgrades to higher levels, or to gameplay-enhancing features usually have to be paid for.
https://www.computertechreviews.com/definition/f2p/
The term F2P, free to play, is associated with free games for users without any charges. The users can play these F2P games on their computers, smartphones, tablets, or consoles. This modality implies that everyone can try the game, and if they are interested, they will end up paying for extras.
The self entitlement of you F2P players is astonishing.

Sounds like you should buy the game?

OP is whining because he refuses to pay to play the content the rest of us paid for. Must be nice to live in your "free handout world" where people can feel entitled to not earning anything. If you want to freeload, go play Apex. That might be a better suited game for you. If you want to actually play Destiny without being a leech, then fork over the money necessary. Also, learn when to use the word "literally" since you make yourself look foolish by using it incorrectly
-
Yeah its more free to try than free to play. I dont think thats necessarily a bad thing, but it should be called what it is IMO.
-
8 RepliesI refuse to call this game free to play paid dlc's and to top it off, you STILL have to pay for ps plus or xbox gold for the multiplayer aspects No other ftp game requires that

9 RepliesEdited by ResidentRecon89: 2/9/2022 7:12:47 PMBungie calling Destiny “Free to Play” is an insult to true Free to Play Games out there such as Warframe. Now Warframe is a true Free to Play Game. EVERYTHING is Free in Warframe. I know people who have gotten everything without dropping a cent into the Game. And what makes Warframe better is there is no Content Vaulting and no Sun Setting either. Yeah, if you buy the Prime Access, and they Vault the Warframe you bought, YOU KEEP WHAT YOU PAID FOR!! Unlike Bungie who stole $250+ dollars from Launch to Shadowkeep only for it all to be removed with their Content Vault. The New War (which I beat) will still be there for all to play 20 years from now. The Second Dream quest that came out 2-3 years ago, is still there for all to play etc. and if they did ever vault those quests, nobody would care cause nobody bought the quest. Again, Bungie calling Destiny Free to Play is an insult to Free to Play Games. If a Game calling itself Free to Play and it doesn’t copy the model of Warframe, Apex Legends etc. by making everything Free (outside of Cosmetics of course cause that’s reasonable.) but what Destiny is doing by charging for A. The DLC, B. The Seasons, C. Eververse Cosmetics, D. Charge separately for the Dungeon AND E. Charging for Transmogrification, then they are a PREMIUM Game and have ZERO right to call themselves Free to Play, cause they aren’t. Bungie are a bunch of Greed Cóck Fúcks and always will be. Now watch Bungie charge for the Weapon Crafting. Make my words on that.
Example: Forsaken I can't do the raids and Dungeons I want as parts of my team require the forsaken pack which costs money when you said Forsaken is free to play.
I feel like this is just a failure to read on your part, because Bungie made it perfectly clear that the Forsaken campaign would be free to play and the dungeons and raids would require Forsaken or the Forsaken Pack.

5 RepliesI like Nessus. I find some areas very aesthetically pleasing. And I like failsafe as well. 👍
-
Edited by mcxp70: 2/9/2022 9:33:26 PMDon’t ever insult Nessus like that.
-
The game isn't free to play. The BASE game is free to play----like every successful MMO. Everything else will cost you money.....like every successful MMO.
-
5 RepliesYou got a free campaign. Complaining that you didn't get free raids and dungeons is going to fall on deaf ears around here. "I got something free (that many others paid for), but I want more for nothing!!!" <--- That's your post - more than a bit ridiculous. ✌️
-
well you download it for free, you can play it for free, but obv a work need a reward so lmfao
-
Edited by Fate: 2/9/2022 9:29:14 PMDestiny isn’t free to play It’s pay to rent with a free Demo
-
2 RepliesGame isn’t free to play just because they give some content for free.
-
-
"Free to download" "Pay To Play"
-
free to play is essentially a demo version. like the demo, pitch in for the cause. don't cry about not having access to content you haven't pitched in for.
-
This thread looks like the perfect place to put that this game has been looking absolutely stunning in terms of visuals lately.
-
Its my team members have a problem... not me.. I am merely stating their problem. As for the other part of my post, which is vault Nessus next, I have been pressing that since Forsaken imminent vaulting was announced. They need to vault that crap destination next as nobody goes there anymore, we literally only went back there for Proving grounds and the battlegrounds but thats it.
-
1 ReplyForsaken campaign is free to play. Reading comprehension is key.
-
6 RepliesOnly the forsaken campaign was free.
-
Bungie said, "Only the Campaign is Free" Not their problem you did read all the way through.
