You may need a new keyboard or controller after all that. I have a little over 26,000 to turn in.

don't forget having to go to the mailbox to delete the crap rolls you'll most likely get, so that'll add some time to that as well - but you'll be loaded on Legendary Shards

5 Replies21843/100= 218.43 So 218 level ups and 218 reward claims is 436 presses. Let's say you get 3 God rolls you want to keep. Thats 215 button holds So that's 436 presses and 215 holds But wait. You just got 215 × 3 more materials. Now you have 645 new materials + 43 leftover ones. 688 total. 688/100 = 6.88 6 more drops, 1 God roll. 5 more button holds Totals: 436 + (6*2) = 448 presses 215 + 5 = 220 holds. But wait. Even more materials. 88 + 5 * 3 = 103 more materials Which is 2 more presses and 1 more hold Grand total of 450 presses and 221 holds. Note: to go deeper, we can add presses from entering and exiting menu we will assume you open and close the menu to dismantle every 15 packages and once at the end. 450 / 15 = 30 That is 30 inventory purges. One button press to enter and another to exit 30*2 = 60 more presses. New total of 510 presses and 221 holds. And 4 God rolls. Note: even with 0 God rolls the presses stay the same because 3 + 3 * 4 = 15 < 100 So no more packages can be bought with that. This adds 4 more presses though. Possible totals. 510 presses, 220-225 holds and up to 5 God rolls (# holds + #God rolls = 225) And 15 - 3 * #god rolls gunsmith materials remaining.

Had a clanmate spend ungodly amounts of time at the Gunsmith last night....turned out he pushed his golf balls and prisms right out of the mailbox dumping weapon parts for 5 'worthwhile' weapons that he won't use. I laughed inside.

1 ReplyShould have burned them on regular basis with the gunsmith. Materials that aren't hard capped and people hamster, will never be used in a way hamstering gives any meaningful advantage.

100 per drop, so 218 to get rid of the 21,843. However, you'll likely dismantle most of those drops, so the actual number will be slightly more. Plus button presses to check rolls and dismantle weapons. In other words, a lot of button presses. I have 84k that I've accumulated since year 1. In order to even start I need to organize my inventory/vault to prepare for the ordeal. I will at least get thousands of legendary shards from all those dismantled legendaries, as well as lots of enhancement cores. I don't even want to know how long it will take to clear out 84k.

About 436 to get the engrams. About 218 to decrypt those engrams. Then an additional press for every one you dismantle, then whatever additional presses you need to do what you will with any weapons you keep. I had 35k, and It’s taken me two play sessions just to convert around 10k of them into weapons and shards. So allow enough time to do it.

6 RepliesLet me guess. Gunsmith materials could be used for weapon crafting but Bungie decided to make them obsolete as a way to deplete players reserves while creating another currency to make us grind our asses off. Why wouldn't I be surprised if that was the reason?
