It was meant to be the answer to all the problems with PVP, but its done nothing but create completely imbalanced games. I know the shills who rooted for these changes are deafly quiet because it is in their favour, they won't say anything. The minority are benefitting but the majority aren't, this is an abuse of a privileged group shilling an absolute trash idea....
For a start, this game isn't in anyway a serious competitive game, you've only tried to push this because of the minority community who are pushing so hard for this game to be some kind of E-Sport. When will you fix matchmaking? I don't want to match with some guy who spends on average 20+ hours per week on PVP, I don't care how long it takes him to find a match I just don't care to match with someone who no lifes the game like this. It's worse enough that the game has little incentive to get back into the grind that you basically ignore the majority for the minor E-Celeb community who shill terrible ideas....
Final note, those who have the influence (the content creators) aren't giving good ideas for the longevity of the game. Take action into your own hand and think about the bigger picture, those idiots will play the game regardless.

1 ReplyGo into comp see how sbmm is for you..... Bet after a few games you'll prefer cbmm
-
1 Reply"shrill", "privileged", "E-Celeb".. You're a tool, my guy.

If I'm going to get my ass kicked I'd rather the connection be stable, so CBMM is better than SBMM, I'm gonna get my ass kicked anyways last thing I need is the terrible connection in SBMM sapping away my sanity.

1 ReplyHonestly CBMM is why Stasis is necessary. It's a low-no skill subclass, which is important: it closes the skill gap between the noobs and the pros who will invariably be paired on opposing teams. CBMM is a bigger detriment to the Crucible than Stasis rn, no matter how much the sweatlords disagree.

You’re missing the bigger picture. This isn’t about MM. All this is contributing to the problem. 1) Being practically ignored for 2 years 2) Console MM Split again Old Gen is separate from Next Gen 3)a Broken Lobby Balancing Algorithm 4) No new maps for 600+ days 5) Stasis 5b) Crowd Control> Gunplay(bungies doing to sell Beyond Light) 7)The Pandemic(not bungies fault obviously but when it hit, Bungie was already behind the 8 ball with PvP) so it just made it that much more Glaring. It means Ppl working from home and not having all the tools to optimize the game at their immediate disposal. 8) PvP is F2P(Free to Play) Which means the lower the Money spent on time and in resources the more Profit Bungie makes. Throw all this in a pot and Stir until it boils over And you get a shit PvP experience. Any questions?

4 RepliesTo all that advocate CBMM..... BS CBMM has ruined the PVP experience. The ONLY reason Sweatards wanted CBMM was to have cannon fodder and not play the top 1%. Got a taste of their own medicine so they whinged until they got SBMM removed! They should have BOTH modes. If you want to get stomped go CBMM. If you want a relaxing game with similar skill go SBMM. It should NEVER be one or the other. It should be a CHOICE!

5 RepliesMy second comment. You're exactly right. It's not a competitive game like csgo, apex, valorant, etc. Which is exactly why it doesn't need sbmm. I said it before and I'll say it again. I enjoy not having to sweat every game and being able to play to fun now. It seems like you just need to put more work and effort in to get better if you are struggling. It's like anything in life. If you don't want to work at it maybe you need to fine a better game for you personally.

1 ReplyI’m just going to be honest here. Neither cbmm or sbmm works if there is not enough people playing the playlists anyway. Allow me to explain. Sbmm can’t work with a low population due to the fact that eventually, nearly all mid tier and higher players leave. This next part is important. Since the game cannot find enough players to match against these pros, it has to extend what skill bracket can join with him. It’s due to this, the remaining pros will eventually get continual stompfests since the game literally can’t match them with anyone else. Also, sbmm with low population will always be forced to match you from other countries, with worse connections, since there are not enough people in your region playing, ever. Cbmm doesn’t work with a low population due to the known mercy fest. As the lower tier gets stomped, they permanently leave pvp. Skill gap becomes higher. New lights and such are immediately drawn away from pvp from the high skill gap, meaning pvp population continues to plummet. It eventually turns into the equivalent of sbmm anyway. Laggy matches and an INCREDIBLY high skill gap. Aka, population is far too low for pvp to thrive. In short, neither works. AIf there is any hope for pvp at all, bungie needs to find SOME WAY to entice a MASSIVE audience to play pvp. Higher population means better matchups, a healthier skill gap, and less lag. However, hoping for this at this point is foolish. Destiny pvp is INCREDIBLY infamous, and I doubt there’s any realistic way to attract a wider audience. Even better loot incentive probably wouldn’t be enough. You might think the 3 win bounty is proof of that, but looking at the reality, it honestly entices bad behavior with suiciding to get the loot faster and such. Again, these people are NOT playing the game as intended and it reflects VERY poorly on bungie. Having 6 vs 6 with one side suiciding or such to end the game faster for desirable loot is embarrassing, and they are getting possibly god tier loot for NOT playing the game. Loot incentive will not be enough to save pvp either.

Plenty of people predicted this back when the SBMM vs CBMM debate occurred before. Hardcore PVP players dont need to match with casuals as it just pushes the casual players away.

It was meant to be the answer to all the problems with PVP...
It's only the solution to all of PvP's problems to the people who are happy kicking sand in the faces of toddlers making sand castles. For people who are looking for an evenly-matched encounter, it's everything wrong with PvP. Long rant short, both CBMM and SBMM have pros and cons; SBMM is good for balanced matching, it's bad for latency and matchmaking times CBMM is good for picking on plebs who still haven't adapted to thumbsticks from the days of Sega Master System, and all the bads are outweighed by that fact so everyone is willing to ignore them (unless you are that pleb).

Bump. And a big middle finger to the self proclaimed professionals advocating for the terrible matchmaking.

Edited by DHawk12: 5/31/2021 10:09:25 PMTbmm>cbmm>sbmm Team-based matchmaking forces both teams to have equally sized fireteam(s)/solo players on both sides. Sbmm will never and can never work without dedicated servers.
-
I'm on 11 games in a row of mismatched teams, getting destroyed by a better team over and over again is not fun at all, especially when you play well
-
7 RepliesI guess “practice” is no longer a thing. Imma just sit and whine, sue and blame everyone instead of try. I mean it’s literally what everyone is doing nowadays.
-
2 RepliesLobby balance are terrible It’s not fun anymore But remember stasis big nerf tomorrow
-
2 Repliesnobody wanted CBMM people just wanted dedicated servers but Bungie is too cheap to do that
-
It’s not CBMM, it’s a hybrid matchmaking system that Function somewhere between Sb MM and CBMM
-
5 RepliesSo good players should have longer que times and should be punished for being better than you. Got it.

4 RepliesEdited by A_mo: 5/30/2021 12:55:42 AMPlaying the matchmaking I've had in control this season then reading stuff like this... Also, 20 is baby hours...

Edited by WulfPak666: 5/30/2021 3:53:25 PMI wouldn't mind CBMM is the Connections were actually worth a damn in the first et place. At BEST, this is Exhausted Hamster Based Matchmaking. I'd blame my own internet but out of all the pvp games I currently play, Destiny is the only game that has this much BS in terms of lag, connectivity issues and whatnot. Then again CoD has always put straight potatoes on my team vs. a team of sweats so at least thats no different and CoD has some thick ass SBMM.
-
TLDR: My ego can’t take that lobby where 1 or 2 players absolutely dominate me.
-
Except thet you're completely wrong and absolutely nothing of what you said is true
-
2 RepliesEasily the worst matchmaking in any game I've ever played.
-
11 RepliesTotally. There were no imbalanced games before CBMM

Edited by TwistedJynx: 5/30/2021 7:53:17 AMI had some hope for CBMM but it's quickly become apparent how big the skill gap is. Honestly I'd just be happy with a non kills limited sbmm mode to practice and get abit better on. You can't get better when the gap is this big sadly. It's over before you know what's happening.
